Isaac Fisher | 1 comments Hello all,

My name is Isaac. I just graduated from the University of Pittsburgh, and I'm looking to get into the editing and proofreading game. I'm a big fan of baseball, science fiction and comic books. But more importantly, I love to read.

I prefer science fiction and graphic novels, but I'm open to just about anything.

I have a blog too with fun cartoons, poems and stories! Here it is:

I'll try to get some updates soon.

Sarah Yoffa (webbiegrrlwriter) | 501 comments Welcome, Isaac. If you don't find enough responses to your post in this thread, be sure to post over in the "Need an Editor or are one?" thread that Cambria started.

Another way to get yourself connected with more authors who might like to buy your proofreading services is to offer to read/review books in exchange for a comp copy. Many authors will post over in the "Authors Seeking" folder. Find the ones that interest you and message them directly.

I have a fun book Coming Home (Dicky's Story) that's promoted as a Romantic Comedy/Inspirational and seems to get reviewed as a science fiction book. It's really not. I do actually write science fiction (as "Friday Baldwin" with my first release Conditioned Response just launched a couple of months ago) but simply because Dicky's Story is set in the future and has some paranormal / magical elements to it (think burning bush effects in Prince of Egypt ;-) it keeps being called SF in reviews.

You might like it anyway :) Best of all, it's FREE right now. Go to

http://bit.ly/DickyStory

Click "buy" and enter "SSWIN" in the coupon code box at checkout. You'll get unlimited access to all formats forever and ever (in case you aren't familiar with Smashwords already). That includes the future update I'll be doing with the new and improved cover art--I'm cartooning Dicky for the new cover. Check him out on my Facebook Page.

If nothing else, you will LOVE that the impish "Kid" who steals the show everytime he's on stage is named Itzick :)

Sadie Forsythe | 36 comments Isaac, it might help if you were a little clearer on what you are offering or soliciting. Are you hoping to advertise an editorial service or find books to review on your blog for experience, or something else?

Good point, Sadie! I'm here looking for a proofreader but I cannot pay the person and I'm unclear if this is what Isaac is looking to do (work in exchange for a testimonial to launch a business) or if he's already selling services. Hmm...

Isaac, I'll private message you about my specific proofreading needs but you shoudl probably follow Sadie's advice and explicitly state what you're offering here.
