I like them unique and brand-new. I'm a little tired of seeing vampires, so now I want to see one that's not like anyone else. The vampire I hated most, out of every book vampire, is without a doubt Louis from the Vampire Chronicles. I HATE that guy. If you're evil, then BE evil. It's enough already.
Yeah. For me, the hot, sexy, brooding vampires....uh, BORING! It's just so overdone, it's become cliche. I've gotta say, I do like the unique vamps. Unique everything, actually.
I like dangerous, dark, sexy, and a devilish (not necessarily evil) side to them.I'm not a fan of brooding, and pouting. Vampires are strong, independent, and no nonsense. The cliched brooding, "good" vampire is definitely overdone. (I'm not into sparkling either. I'm the if a vampire goes into sunlight he turns to dust sort of girl.)
Vampires are both powerful yet vulnerable a major reason we like them I think.Powerful to give us a sense of unmorality. The thrill is in the chase. I to think it has overdone until the next generation catches on. There will be another Harry Potter as well. History does repeat itself.
My favorite vampire was Spike from Buffy, but only for a short while. Seasons 3-4 is when I liked him best.
For me, it has to be Matthew from the Deborah Harkness trilogy. Smart, sexy, handsome, passionate & nothing like the vampire cliches we're familiar with.
Mine should be loving yet vicious like in the movie "Let me in" <3I think that's more realistic because they desire blood but they also seem kinda human. I also like how some key factors of being a vampire like amazing strength, immortality, constant age, and the inability to come in without an invitation were worked into the movie.
I like the vampires the wat they were portrayed in the old movies of the 60's. Dangerous and evil, but regal in their castles of old. It makes for all things rennaisance
I've been teased for so long about vampires since I am highly allergic to the sun, prefer to write my best work while others are sleeping and find they are quite the interior designs artists! I also enjoy vampire art and the always popular love/hate relationship to all that is bloody. I quite enjoy the idea of someone living through so many centuries that they are a plethora of knowledge first hand. I also think that it is remarkable that people purchased actual vampire hunting kits in the 1800's because they believed. I like to wonder what it was like to believe, how different the world must have seemed.
I love all things vampire! I love hot, sexy, and brooding but I prefer hot, sexy, & cocky; a vamp who loves being a vamp and has a sense of humor.
Me too, Martha. Must be fascinating to experience such changes in fashion, technology, etc. You have to wonder, though, how jaded one might become over time.
They definately have seen a lot over the years, since they can only die if killed by a vampire hunter and in my preferred vampire turning to dust in sunlight.
Oh wow, Martha, your idea reminds me of the vampire Marius in the Vampire Chronicle. He's an ancient vampire and he always aspires to acquire more knowledge. And not like other vampires who stay away from human world and hide in there own castles, Marius never stops learning. He knows many languages and he reads newspapers and books (he has his own library and a messy, cosy reading room, how sexy is that??!) He writes chronicles and history, everything he has learned in the thousand years he's been around. He's also a painter and his paintings are of all the places he's been to, and the vampire senses allow him to see and feel things more sensibly, that's why his paintings are so breathtakingly realistic. I just think he must be the most clever and knowledgeable vampire of all.

Martha wrote: "All of the above!"Yes, a combination of those traits if possible, as long as they don't sparkle I'll be ok! :)
