Yeay Ezinwanyi...Great job! You are the first to complete her book.
Bridges....and a whole lot of other items. We can claim three other items. Which three do you wish to claim? I would pick three that are hard to find. Like Mystical Creatures???? And what kind of vehical?

would a water Fae be considered a mystical creature?
If so, I chose vehicle, m.creature & tattoes.
Mercy drives a Volkswagen. she is a mechanic specializing in VW's. She learned about cars from her former Boss Zee, who is a german fae.

Dawn (Kat N Hat) (katnhat) Ezinwanyi

Can you please go back and edit your original review to add the date you finished and your items.

You will need to be more specific about the vehicle though. Volkswagon makes cars as well as SUV's and one upon a time vans/bus. You need to list the specific "non-car", not just the manufacturer. (In my opinion SUV's, vans and hummers are cars. But my husband has argued the point that they are not cars so I will take them)

I will give you points now for bridge, fae, and tatoo, just let me know when you post your final item so I can give you credit.

Lina Item: #1 - BRIDGE
Crossing the Bridge by Michael Baron
Book: Crossing the Bridge
Rating: ★★★
Finished: 04-Jul-12
Review: I thought this was a lovely read. It is not your traditional contemporary romance, but it definitely is a love story. It is also a story of finding your way after a tragedy can strip your life of purpose or direction.
The story dragged in places but I liked the simplicity of the writing.
Other Items:
*Water - cover
*Shoe - pg 70: "Rivulets of water formed around my shoes"
*Fire - pg 156: "Do you remember that time the two of you serenaded me by the campfire to ‘Hey Jude’?

My points will be (Bridge) Mythical Creature, Reflection & Silhouettes for my extra three.

Katya Tip on finding items....sometimes it is hard to find items or you don't recognize the item when you are reading it. I read epubs on my nook simple touch but before I read it I open the epub on my computer (easier to do searches) and run the list through the search and see if any phrases fit.

Looks good except that the VW Rabbit/Golf is a car. The item is "Vehicle of some kind other than a car". I know in earlier books it mentions Stephen has a van. That would work if it is mentioned again or let me know if you want to change your item.

Ezi Chinny (ezinwanyi) | 1882 comments For clarification purposes, we have a week to read a book that has a bridge right? So for those people who didn't pick a book with a bridge, they still have a few more days to try to get the "item of the week".

Also, Don't you have to get the item of the week? And the other stuff is bonuses? Do the other item even count if you don't get the item of the week?

╰⊱♥⊱╮ღ꧁Kathy,Ahmazing Book Faerie꧂ღ╭⊱♥≺ (mamabear7080) Ezinwanyi wrote: "For clarification purposes, we have a week to read a book that has a bridge right? So for those people who didn't pick a book with a bridge, they still have a few more days to try to get the "item ..."

Geez Ez!!! Glad I'm not the only one who is not clear on everything!! I have got SO many books to read, I dont want to add more to my TBR pile just because it has the item of the week in or on it! I didnt realize it was so important!! Am I going to be holding everyone back if I dont get the item this week??

message 118: by Dawn (Kat N Hat) (new)

Dawn (Kat N Hat) (katnhat) Ezinwanyi:

1. You don't have to read the book in the week if it takes you longer that is fine, but your team won't get a point until everyone has read thier a book with the item. It isn't a big rush now at the begining of the game. But if we get close to the end and only a few people need an item it will be a race to read.

2. Technically you don't have to read the item of the week. It isn't very sportsman like but you could skip it and it may hurt your team in the long run. If you don't find and read your bridge book, but then in week 3 you are reading a book for that item and find a bridge that could get you credit for bridge. It hurts your team though because you didn't read the first book and claim 3 extra items and now you are claiming bridge as an extra item the number of items you are actually claiming is less than the max.

3. Yes, any other item than the item of the week is like a bonus. The game is only going to last through 9 items. But you can get your team more than 9 points by finding the other 11 items.

4. No the other items don't count unless tied to a book with the item of the week. You only get credit for the other items when you post them with your review of the item book.

Kathy, this is my first time on this, so please be patient with me while I figure stuff out. I am not clear on how the item of the week impacts the point system.

I already chose the books that I want to read for July-August, and I am not planning to add or buy any new books. So like you, I have to make my current TBR list work.

That is why I asked earlier if the hero kissing the heroine on the "bridge" of her nose would count. I didn't get a response, so I didn't count that one.

I also need to know, the items we found this week, is it permanently off our list?
For instance, since my book had nudity and vehicle, does that mean that I should cross nudity and vehicle off my list of available items?

*sighing*
I am going to read the rules again and I will be back

Each item is worth 1 point for the team. As each member reads they get 1/6th of a point toward the team point. Points will only be counted for full team point, not in sixths of a point.

Yes you should cross the items off your personal list. You have already claimed them and can only claim them once. However if next week nudity gets called you have two options. Since you already have the point you don't have to read another book, but that hurts your extra points. If you choose to find another book with nudity then you can claim 3 more items to help get extra points for the team.

EDIT: Ok, I just found some extra items:
Bridge - cover
Water - cover

Kathy, if I'm understanding it correctly, unfortunately none of the extra items you've found in Stray, Wild Man & Law Man will count towards the items list. Bummer :-( I'm sure you don't need the extra pressure, so do you want me to just keep the book space blank in the tally post? Or do you think you might try to find this weeks items in another book?

Why will the xtra things I've found not count? Is that because I have not found a bridge yet? Hey Kathy, thanks for the quick reply. I hadn't realised you hadn't finished the books, sorry. I thought you'd finished and hadn't found the bridge in either, which is why the extra items wouldn't have counted. I'm really sorry, I wasn't trying to make it more confusing for you.

Love the idea of posting the items you find in the books you're reading as you go so everyone else can benefit when we get to that item. Hadn't thought of that, it's a great idea. If you've got time to put them on the help list, that'd be great, but no biggie. I think as long as the rest of us remember to look back through the posts in this team thread, we should be good. (What do you think, Katya?)

Dawn (Kat N Hat) (katnhat) Aww thanks. The fact that I can still make a spreadsheet with complex formulas is reward enough... it lets me know that Elmo and Micky Mouse haven't turned my brain to mush and I am capeable of greater math than learning to count to 10. (I do worry that staying home with a 2 year old might turn my brain to mush)

Ezi Chinny (ezinwanyi) | 1882 comments We love Elmo, mickey mouse, the backyardigans, Barney, & Superwhy.

Brain to mush? NEVER.
Do you realize how inventive we have to be?

I have a 5, 3 & 1 year old and I consider myself highly intelligent because they ask me all kinds of questions and I have to come with answers on the fly.

this morning: 5yr old: Mommy, look up in the sky. Why are the sun and moon in the sky together?

Me: because they are Sharers. just like you should share with your brother. There is enough room in the sky so they share just like you guys share your toys, room etc

I felt like such a genius afterwards. the little people keep me on my toes (LOL).

On the radio (The Gene & julie show), a 4yr old asked her parents what was all those sounds they were making last night. Apparently she got out of her bed and came to their door, though it was locked, but she listened to them.
Dad replied: We were playing game called Monsters.
4yr old: you guys were really loud. I guess you were scared.

you see, I give parents everywhere a Hi-five when we can explain some of these sticky situations away!!

LMAO!!! I love it Ezinwanyi, that cracked me up :-) I have an 8yr old, a 5 yr old and a 2 yr old and they also keep me on my toes. message 140: by Ezi (new)

Ezi Chinny (ezinwanyi) | 1882 comments you know that the next time that 4yr old plays "monsters" with her school friends, she is going to be imitating whatever sounds she heard her mommy and daddy making.
Then the school will have to call the parents in for a Parent-Teacher conference to ask what is up with all the moaning sounds their 4yr old keeps making during recess.

kids don't know how to keep some of that stuff in-house.

I climbed the stairs to my unit,Blah blah(irrelevant stuff,)I made it to the top and walked straight to Mitch’s door,Blah blah, more stuffMitch nodded to him, grabbed my hand and led me out. There was yellow police tape
criss-crossing my door that I hadn’t noticed because I hadn’t even looked that way.

Per Random House Dictionary:
breeze·way: /ˈbrizˌweɪ/[breez-wey]
