Breaking Dawn
question
Do you think Renesmee should be called something else?
I think the concept of combining the names of their moms is cute but the result is crap

I adored all the names of the Cullen family and then Bella marries in and picks "Renesmee". Good idea but bad outcome. Steph had the ability to pick classy, old fashion, unique names like Emmett, and Rosalie, so Renesmee was disappointing. :(
I really like it and think it's neat.People have named there kids Cocoa and Apple and IMO Renesmee is a ton better.

Yes, I've never liked that name, it screams of boredom - I suggest Sacarra!
Her name is amazing and perfect. It sounds fit for her, uniue, one of a kind. Renesmee Carlie Cullen is amazing. Even she laughs at Albus severes Potter.
Yeah I think that name pretty much sucked it wasn't original
It's unique (not to be repetitive) but flows in an odd sort of way. It rolls of you're tongue. I think it's nice.

Her name is unique like her! she is a very rare species and very differetn than normal. I dont really like her name....but it stands its purpose
Its so tacky, Cliche and Just plain Stupid. Much like the books themselves.
I love the name. It's unique, like everyone else who likes it has said. I mean, I know people that are named after things like River, Ocean, Apple. Not that I don't like those names, it's just that I perfer Renesmee to those.
The name was so stupid I nearly chucked the book out the window. It just sounds horrible.
Yeah- everytime I read the name I got so annoyed! Why 'Renesmee' Why?!!
I liked it okay, but I actually preferred the "carlie" idea that bella discarded.
YES .. JOCOB had got it right NESSIE would fit her perfectly
I like it and I am so used to it now that I don't think much about it anymore - for a fictional character, anyway :D
Why not use Edwards real mothers name Elizabeth Mason? It is old, has meaning, and would fit.
Elizabeth Renee Cullen or Elizabeth Renee Eseme Cullen (ok that is stretching a bit)
Elizabeth Rose Cullen would of been nice also (Rose for Rosalie)

Elizabeth Rose Cullen would of been nice also (Rose for Rosalie)
Its not lame it is very original, actually. I have an original name. And a lot of people tease me about it. But its beautiful.
I liked the name...When I'd been pronouncing it in my head wrong the entire time.
I pretty much pronounced it "Ren-ez-me" and thought it was cute.

I like Nessie :)
Kristen Hill
I think Nessie is cuter than Renesmee but mostly because I call my dog "Nestle" "Nessie" sometimes.

i think that it's a good tribute to the parents ...but it kind of felt like a hollywood thing - like 'brangelina' or all those other names that are mashed together.
Personally... I think the name is crap. It should totally be less... weird and maybe sound better. Like who the hell would actually name their child Renesmee.
eehhh. I mean they definitely could have came up with something more beautiful and also more different(if that is what they were going for)
Renesmee, the name I do not like and still don’t I thought Stephanie Mayer could found a old fashion at could fit, well may she tried hard and it just stuck with some that does happen I know I am a story taller and writer myself and some and name just sit with you even if you hate it.
I like her name-It's unique. Renesmee Carley Cullen :)
You know I wouldn't have a problem with it if it wasn't a) crappy (because the idea of combining the names isn't bad but the result was crap) and b)yea it's unique and everything but seriously? if their goal is to stay secretive and unnoticeable then how many other Renesmee's are there going to be? Unless they plan to homeschool her and keep her in lockdown I don't really see her in 100 years explaining how she got that name... I don't know I'm reading too much into it but that comes with every book and part of the appeal I guess in keeping people interested.
It would have been better if they just called her Renee Esme which is how I always pronounced it in my head anyway but in the movie they say it Re-nes-may with the emphasis on the middle syllable.
Guy's lets be honest, the name isn't the most usual name but it is original. I don't like Renesme but I thought it was better than "Dusk" , "Oleo" , and even "La-shia" (which is pronounced La DASH ee a) see there are more terrible names out there so lets just be thankful that Bella named her baby Renesme rather than SugerBuns, Ruger, or Dacoda.
I did not like it at all. The idea of honoring both mom's is nice, but it just sounds awkward.
I like how the name is a combination of the moms, but the name is terrible.
I hated the name Renesmee, combination names don't always work and it would have been a lot better if she had went with Carlie as a first name.
I am so over people who give their children cutesy names. It reveals a disgusting attitude. If the child were real it would be condemned to go through life being expected to explain its name. Try that on the 5 millionth repetition. Bella and Edward are disgusting bogans who should go back to the western suburbs where they belong.
