In what way do you think it's dated Harvest? I would have thought that anything to do with Jihad is still very much relevant today as when this book was written if not more so.

Hi Zara! I feel it is a bit dated because the timeframe the book takes place in has already happened (or is currently happening--it's not 100% clear). So, in the beginning of the book, it is a little difficult to wrap your brain around who the "current" president is--without thinking Obama, because many of the other characters are real people. I mean, we have over a decade of history since the book was written. Much of what Rosenberg wrote was speculative at the time, but now we know what actually happened. His book is still fascinating and not so dated that the reader can't get past the present situation. My struggle was mostly during the first chapter, which is common for me with many books as I settle in and get to know the characters I'm dealing with. Now that I'm further along in the book, I'm really enjoying it and suspect I will highly recommend it to other readers.

I loved that series and after you finish this series you need to read Joel's latest series, I call it The David Shirazi series. The Twelfth Iman, the Tehran Initiative, and the Damascus Countdown. I loved both series but this latest one was outstanding. So make sure you read them.

Thanks Debbie! They are already on my To-Read list. I am really looking forward to them, but I'm forcing myself to read the older series first. LOL--it's how I motivate myself. ;) Seriously, though, I am about 3/4 of the way through The Last Jihad and I love it! It looks like Joel and I are going to be spending the next several weeks together...and I can't wait!

Debbie One of the books, either #2 or #3 was a little slow for me, but don't let that get you discouraged...keep reading, it's a great series. But his latest (I guess because it's fresher in my mind) is totally great!
