I'm going to share a funny that can only happen with my family... I'm over flowing with books, so I have family looking for bookshelves at estate auctions they go to monthly. Well my sister in law went with my aunt this week and found a huge solid oak bookshelf/entertainment center. Sent the picture, told them to go for it... Well the fever hit and my $10 bookshelf ended up $55 because they were both bidding against each other and didn't realize it. But it gets better... Get this monster bookshelf home and it's oversized and cannot fit thru the doors to get into my home. At least it wasn't a huge expense, but the hubster is not a happy camper.

I really enjoyed this one. It kept me guessing for quite a while.
Story revolves around Karou an odd artist living in Prague, she's got blue hair, strange tattoos and a hidden past. What follows is a Tale of Chimera, Angels, Love, Betrayal and Resurrectionism.
It was reminiscent of

The ending has me gagging for more....

This is the second book in The Fallen series. I like the series. It's a bit different, and I'm not sure how I feel about the problems the main characters face with each other. But I like the different world that Douglas has built. In this one, Azazel is going after the Lilith. Well, the Lilith (They keep calling her "the Lilith" and not just "Lilith") is hidden deep in Rachel Fitzpatrick's self and she doesn't even realize it. She just knows she keeps losing her memories and certain things make her afraid. Azazel sets out to kill her, but in the end changes his mind. But the things that happen in the middle are things that I am not sure I would forgive. But, they are angels and demons in a make believe land, so I just went with it. I would like to read the next one in the series since it did receive good reviews, and just placed it on hold at my library. I should be able to pick it up in the next week or so!
Lis, did you read Raziel already? I think this book is worth reading, even though it's a bit dark. But I started it yesterday after posting here, and I stayed up well past midnight reading it just to find out what happens next. So, yes, I think it's worth moving up on your list!

And GR isn't giving me any notifications. Urgh!!!!

I haven't had any either. I thought maybe it was something I did, and I thought it odd that there were no new messages in any of the threads I am following. I will have to be good about checking again tonight when I get home!

Another well written book in a great series. Kara (a detective in a small Louisiana town) finds herself faced with murders that are linked to the arcane. In addition to the murders, the demon Rhyzkhal wants her to be his summoner and her Aunt Tessa's essence is missing. Her relationship with Ryan (an FBI agent) is still up for debate. The sexual tension is very obvious but neither are ready to label it as more than just friendship.
Love the book and series. I can't wait to read the next installment!

Glad you loved it Jennifer, I'm pretty sure I gave it 5 stars too, and I'm now hanging out for #5.
Finished my book, which was why I didn't turn on the computer and get distracted earlier. LOL.

Number #3 in the Eternal Guardians hit just the right spot. This series could of gone the soft option but instead we have more villans; witches, warlocks, Daemons, Gods of the Underworld, Mothers who are Goddesses with axe's to grind, and the ubiquitous Council; all wanting something different but all ultimately wanting Power!
Demetrius, an Argolian Guardian, has suspected that the Princess Isadora is his soulmate for the last two hundred years. As he thinks this is a very bad idea due to his bloodlines he has done everything to avoid her and make her afraid of him.
Isadora, is one of the Horae, three goddesses of balance controlling life and order, her half-sisters being the other two. None of them as yet know how to harness this power but of course our villans all know how to do that. So it comes as no surprise that Isadora is kidnapped.
Demetrius, who is still fooling himself and everyone else, immediately springs into action and ends up on the island of Pandora with Isadora, who is under a fertility spell. They aren't alone on Pandora, as every evil creature appears to be there too, harpies, caledonian bulls, chimeras, hydras, etc, all of whom wish to partake of Isadora. LOL.
Love all the mythology and Argonauts and all the action in these books. Looking forward to the next one.

Sue, I guess I shouldve went with Demon too, I read Raziel earlier this year but hadn't made it back to that series yet. Too far into Sabina's book, still moving slow. Hopefully I will make a bigger dent today.

Sorry it's slow going for you. I hate that when I just can't get into a book. Sometimes I'll put a book down for a while and when I come back to it later I actually enjoy it (most of the time)! Can you change the book you decided to read?

Review: The gang all heads to New Orleans to rescue Maise (view spoiler) . Poor Giguhl, her mischief demon familiar has broken up with his vanity demon girlfriend and takes on the role of Sabina's personal Dr Phil. Most of the books drags as they search for clues as to where her grandmother is and avoiding attacks from mysterious brotherhood. Yay, Sabina discovers she can raise zombies too. The storyline does build and there are big reveals and excitement in the end. I really do like this series and can hopefully finish it up in 2012.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

Shelf! Shelf! Shelf!

I started the Weather Wardens series a while ago, but only made it through the first three. How far into the series are you?

I really loved the series and had no issues reading all 9 books. Actually I was a little upset when they finished.

I'm up to book 6 Thin Air, I'd like to finish them this year. The storyline is so different, you have no clue what direction that they are going to take. The last one was hard on the emotions.

Urban Fantasy is good because none of the 4-in-a-row teams get Bingo, though there will be more 4-in-a-rows after everyone reads their books.

Of the three, I have only read the Dark Swan series. I REALLY liked it. Sorry I can't give you anything on the other two. Good luck!

This is book two in the Persephone Alcmedi series. The main character, Persephone (Seph), is a witch. She is friends with wolves, is "stained" by a powerful vampire and recently found out she is the Lustrata. Seph's character really comes into her own in this book. The writing is easy to follow, with only a couple of errors. I like the world the author has built. Book one in the series, Vicious Circle, took a while for me to get into it. This one though, I couldn't put down. I enjoyed it thoroughly and can't wait to start the next one.

I've read the Dark Swan series and only the first couple in the Dresden files series. I really like the Dark Swan series, but I'm kind of a biased Richelle Mead fan. I'm still trying to get into Butcher's series and I know a lot of people like them, but I haven't got there yet.

I couldn't get into Storm Front Caroline, they say it doesn't get good till book #3 or #4. I just couldn't be bothered to waste my time. I've got Working for the Devil but keep getting put off by peeps reviews on that one. And I haven't tried any Richelle Mead. So really not much help there either.
At least there's plenty to choose from.

I'm getting a late start on my reading, the last of our family pulled out late this afternoon so our family reunion is officially over. Now if I could just focus more on the book and less on the Olympics...

While Storm Front is a little slow to get through, I love that series! I didn't really like Working for the Devil, and I liked Storm Born a lot as well!

This is the 10th book in the series and the culmination of a big story arc. Right to the end I had thought this was the final book in the series, but there are at least 2 more in the works.
Stirling "Harvard" Chase is a warrior for the Order, on the brink of bloodlust, which is pretty poor timing as Dragos's War is imminent.
Chase goes AWOL and the Order gives up on him. But there is one redeeming feature to Chase, his determination to kill Dragos. He also has a fascination with Tavia Fairchild, even though she sics the cops on him when he starts shooting at a big political party.
Tavia Fairchild, is the PA to a popular Senator, until he becomes the Minion of Dragos, and Chase has to save her from minions and Dragos. What does Dragos want with Tavia? In her kidnapping all is revealed. And wow I never saw that coming.
Lots of action, rogue vampires running amok in the streets, babies & kids everywhere.
This was a very satifying end to the story arc and I'm interested to see where this world building is going next. Obviously Tavia's 2 half-sisters will have to feature, along with Lucan and his new political powers.

Hopefully, you'll be able to get into that one.
