I loved this book! I've had it on my tbr for the longest time and it was so worth the wait. Jane True is an outcast in her small town of Rockabill. One night she discovers she's only half human and she is quickly introduced into the world of the supernatural. She's introduced to Ryu, a sexy vampire with potential as a love interest. I adore Jane, while she lacks self confidence, she has an "I am what I am" attitude which is very refreshing. This book has an interesting take on the mythology, it's fairly simple but it works well. What I loved the most was the constant action, it was non-stop. I was gripped from the first page. I can't wait to read the next book.

How are you finding not having any internet? I imagine it must be frustrating, I keep thinking I'd get more stuff done without it though.
I've updated the lists and requested the stamp, thank you. I'll post a new list for what we are still working on :)

How is everyone else getting on?

Michelle, you would think that I'd be getting a lot more reading done with all this extra time I have with no Internet but it's so not the case. Between work and having my boys home all day and the fact that I've started working out again, I have no more time than I had before it seems. Lol But next week I have big plans to purge and clean our old computer room and start converting it to a kids room. One of the boys can finally have his own room instead of all three sharing.

I wish you luck with the rennovations, I know what it's like having 3 kids share - a lot of the time it's not pretty!
I've added your book to the shelves :)

You now have an updated BINGO card with a stamp on 'New2You: series'.
[Your updated BINGO card can be viewed on page 1]
Good Job!! :D

I loved this book, it takes second place in my favourite LOTU books.
Kaia is such a fun character, she's slightly nuts with severe ADD but that just adds to her character. Harpy's are really viscious and bloodthirsty, it made for an entertaining read! Strider caved i easier than I thought he would. I'm glad he was no longer panting after Haidee though...
I have an overwhelming urge to revisit Kresley's IAD books now :)

I liked this installment, the mystery part was enjoyable. There wasn't as much Roarke in this one and I love him and Eve together, there didn't seem to be as much character development in this one. I'll still be reading the rest though :)

Now I'm starting Bitten for the shifters shelf.

I finished my demon book, Supernatural 7/31/12. It is an anthology of 4 novellas so I will rate them separately.
Vampire Fight Club 3 stars- felt like she tried to squeeze too much in too quickly. Didn't really like her brother's motivation for fighting.
Darkness Eternal 4 stars - liked these characters. Now I have another series to read (to go with the other 1000, LOL)
Kane 4 stars- not much action, but I enjoy getting to know these 2 characters better. Would not be good for someone who hasn't already read her other books
Dragon on Top -3 stars Took me a while to get used to the style. Would have happened faster if I had realized GA Aiken is same person as Shelly Laurenston
since I've read some of her other books and the humor is the same.

I will change your ghosts choice.
Thaks for the update, Julianne! I'm curious how you liked it...

Oh how I love Bones...let me count the ways...wait, this book isn't just about Bones? I loved this book, and overall I loved Cat too, but she bothered me a few times. I understand the why she has the prejudices and the insecurities but there was a few times in the book that I wanted to front kick her. That aside, I still adore her and I think my favorite part of the book was when Bones was training Cat. It was the perfect balance of action, romance and mystery. And did I mention I love Bones? Can't wait to read the next book to see what happens next.

I am 98 pages in to my Ghost read, hopefully I'll finish it soon.

for I want to change my books.
For the Ghosts shelf, I read

I can't remember the last time I came to adore a character as quickly and wholeheartedly as I have come to do Peter. And I follow the story because it is his story, and not because I am interested in what is happening. If it was another book, I woulda been bored outta my mind, but because it was Peter's life and his narration, I was wholly invested in the mystery and how it all unfolded. Love it!!

I finished it today 2 August, and I give it 2.5★
It started off really strongly and finished off really weakly. Quite disappointing. You could almost see the progression - in the beginning a five star concept, plot and characters, soon after, 4 star concept, plot and characters, and by the end, a 2-star overall. This is only the second or so book I have felt that way about.

I love this series, there is so much going on that you barely manage to catch a breathe. You certainly never get bored. I will say that the more this series goes on the more like Riley, Risa becomes. I'm still not entirely sure who is actually the good guys. Everyone has their own motivations and they're not all in Risa's best interest - if I'm sure of anything, it's that!

I did all the shelf switching and updated the lists. Hopefully Janelea will pop in soon and let us know how she is, it's been a while.

Paul Jones kidnaps Jeanne Louise in an act of desperation, believing she is the answer to all his prayers. When Jeanne Louise faces the reason behind this desperate act she chooses to aid him rather than escape and call in the enforcers to handle the situation. They soon find themselves on the run from those looking to save Jeanne Louise and they get themselves in a pickle. Can they convince the enforcers incluing Uncle Lucian to overlook the broken laws and help them instead?
Wow! What an amazing book from Lynsay Sands, it's nice to see her back on top form. Jeanne Louise's story has become my favourite book in the series so far and considering this is book 17 in the series that is surprising. I was so torn up in knots throughout this one and I was rooting for the 'bad guy' to win. I can honestly say that if I was in his position I would have done the exact same thing, I think any parent would...

Series Catch-Up personal shelf
Read 8/8/12 ★★★★★
Grave Dance, Book 2 of Alex Craft series
In the last book we find out that Alex is fae-kin (her father is a noble fae). Alex killed Coleman in book 1 and now there is blood on her hands, which shows up when she's in Faerie.
In this installment, several things happen, firstly, there is the pile of left feet found. Whenever Alex tries to raise its shade (which is like the body's memory), its like the left feet never had a body its connected to. Its as if the body never existed.
Also in this book is that Alex gains the ability to create holes in the plane and realities. Due to this new ability she is wanted by everyone. Alex is taken to the Winter Court to see the queen and then rescued by the Shadow King.
Another thing that happened is the discovery of Alex's mother being fae/fae-kin. The Shadow King turns out to be Alex's Great-something-uncle, though it seems like this uncle only wants her for her power too.
I liked this installment as there were a lot of things happening. However, I have to say there wasn't much progress with her relationships. Honestly, I'm rooting for Alex and Death, Falin would make a good partner but.... mm... I don't know...? Yet from what I've read so far, Alex and Falin is more likely to get together. Will be starting the 3rd book as soon as possible.
