Melanie,
If you want a serious novel about the oldest topic under the sun, faith v science, I unashamedly nominate my new one 'SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST'. It depicts one of the most famous examples of that conflict, the one within the Darwin household, where Charles's wife Emma, a devout Christian, edited all his scientific work whilst having to contain her own fears for his soul as his atheistic convictions developed. The book concerns a modern day detective search for a secret Addendum to 'Origin of Species' in which Charles Darwin explains his own scientific reasons for his disbelief in the existence of God, but which he never published in his lifetime for fear of adding to the controversy he had already created. You can read more about it, and even see an extract on its website (http://sbpra.com/robinhawdon). It is of course on Goodreads.
And to see Darwin's contribution to the group from beyond the grave go to www.charlesdarwinblog.com!

Hi, I checked out your blog and was going to leave a comment. Do you have your comment option on? I liked what I saw.

Jean Coleman | 79 comments "THE CHRISTMAS VISITOR" is my way of wishing everyone in the group a very Merry Christmas. This new posting on my blog is a true story that happened when we were living in Australia several years ago. I feel it will touch your heart and this is my Christmas gift to all blog readers here on Goodreads. You can read it at www.facebook.com/chapter29 or just click onto my photo on the left and to enjoy it on my author page. Have a blessed Christmas!

message 419: by Jean (new)

Jean Coleman | 79 comments WHAT A CALAMITY! You probably have seen me posting on here about my blog. Well, on Saturday evening I posted a new blog and somehow it appeared two times. So I decided to delete the second posting.....and when I hit the delete button, all 45 postings on my blog disappeared in an instant of time!!! It was like witnessing some sort of nightmare. I wrote to the technical folks at Goodreads and they say the posts are gone forever! However, I have them all on my website, so sometime in the future they will make a miraculous appearance again on Goodreads. But right now we are preparing to leave to preach for three weeks in India on January 8th--our twenty-second trip to India. I feel like it is my second home. So until our return, perhaps you could all just read my book, "Chapter 29 Revisited" and then in February my blog will be up and running again. The moral of this story is that you never know what the delete button will delete! What happened reminds me of how Jesus deleted our sins at the cross, however they will NEVER appear again. Chapter 29 Revisited by Jean Coleman

Jean Coleman | 79 comments THE JESUS BUTTON - I'm starting up my blog again on Goodreads with what has always been everyone's favorite post. You can click on my little photo on the left and it will take you directly to this little story about my experience wearing the Jesus button. Why not leave a comment so I know that you have visited. Blessings!

James Partlow (jamespartlow) | 1 comments I recently wrote a Christian fiction novel (novella), called Manor of Corruption (by me, James Partlow--published by Black Rose Writing), and would love to get people's thoughts/reviews. It's a story of a mobster who hires a young writer to pen his memoir, but his real motivation is to corrupt his mind. The philosophical underpinning of the book is a discussion of how we depend upon reason as an absolute, a standard, but it is unreliable at best, and at worst is used in our own corruption.
If not reason, what? Well, Faith and Reason as the Catholic Church has long taught.

Anyway, let me know if you're interested. Thanks so much.
God bless.

Nadine | 1 comments If you like Jane Austen, the Victorian Era or more intelligent fiction in general, check out my blog.

I unearth and review Christian literature from the Victorian Era many people today haven't heard of. Drawing upon my studies as a Masters student of English literature, I also offer in-depth analysis of the works I introduce for those that are interested.

If you would like to read Christian fiction but find the Bible-bookstore-romance variety too shallow or bland, this is the blog for you!

Mary Hill (marykatbpc) | 14 comments Hi, what is in your stack this week? Mondays, I have a family friendly blog hop asking you to share your reviews, your list of books you are currently reading, or any book-related posts. The hop opens on Mondays at 12 a.m. and run through the following Sunday until 11:59 p.m. so you can come back all week and link up your book-related posts. There are very few, if any, family-friendly, inspirational Christian book hops out there. I have not found any, yet. The only family friendly hops list children's books. I felt uncomfortable posting on hops that included graphic or books focusing on sinful activities. Please join me and support me in this positive hop. Here is this week's link. Then come back next Monday and link up again.

Nike Chillemi I don't think I've ever listed my blog here before.

My blog is Nike Chillemi ~ Crime Fictionista

I blog mainly about murder mysteries, thrillers, detective stories, cozies, romantic suspense, espionage stories, and the like. I also blog about real life police procedure. If I come upon a slice of life or quirky law enforcement event, I'll write about it. Occasionally I'll venture off the law enforcement reservation and blog about something seasonal, or cute.

This blog contains articles written by authors living in the Australia, Canada, Scotland, and the United States. They talk about inspirational fiction as well as other information for everyone who loves to read. Several of the authors are also reviewers for Christian publishers and often get copies of the latest books before they are available to the public. This means you can always hear the latest information about your favorite books and authors in a timely manner. In addition to book reviews, you'll enjoy reading exclusive author interviews, learning about the many giveaways that are available, and finding apps for readers. Check in every Friday for a list of free books and books on sale.
