No you didn't offend me lol. It's fine and also I don't think I can read 4 books in a month lol. I have way to much to do. I go out way to much with my friends.

It does look really good - I've added it to my own wishlist! This thread is dangerous!

(Your choice is next on my list!)

I am happy you liked it. I still have it on my TBR list. I have a couple I want to get to before that one.

Debbie's Spurts (D.A.) I just finished Gossip Girl (Gossip Girl, #1) by Cecily von Ziegesar that Yasmani picked for me. Despite my curiosity about the show and the series (the reason was on my TBR), unfortunately, this was not for me. Possibly the wrong age group to enjoy; but, I did not care for the choppy, blog-style type of writing, story or characters. Not only the wrong age group, but, I also think it is just too much like dozens and dozens of similar sounding books I already read.

I read Gossip Girl because of the TV series and the TV series is by far way better. Also when I bought Gossip girl I got the 1st 3 book. The 1st one is pretty bad. I enjoyed the 2nd one best of all.

You were right to recommend; it was a book you enjoyed and was on my TBR list because I was curious. Just for curiosity sake, I am glad I read and got it out of the way (can also get rid off library waiting list for series).

I still might catch the show reruns because of all the good things I heard.

message 214: by Yasmani (new)

Yasmani | 79 comments Well that's good that takes 12 other books off your list :) and now you have time for more books. The show doesn't really go by the series. Only like season 1 goes a little by the 1st book. Also the character's are way more likable in the series and you see how they mature and develop every season.

yesterday. It was a little too mushy for me, lots of "I love you"s, but I can see why others have enjoyed it!

Yasmani | 79 comments Hey, sorry guys but I don't think I am going to be able to read the books that Leigh picked for me. I already started Goblin's Quest picked for me by Debroah and I will in fact finish this book. I am having some difficulties with the book. It is getting better and easier to read now but still with this book and other books that I been reading I wont get to read the one Leigh picked for me this month. I will read them because I have Mockingjay and Divergent that I bought with my money but I just don't have the time to read it. Sorry :(

message 222: by Yasmani (new)

Yasmani | 79 comments I finally finished Goblin Quest (Jig the Goblin, Book 1) by Jim C. Hines and it was a good book nice cute story but not really for me. At times it was good but the whole time I found myself really just wanting to finish the story. I do not plan to read anymore books on this series but the author of this book does have another series that I am interested in reading.

Yeah, and that part was a little annoying at first, but after you get use to the 5yr old POV it is a pretty good book. Certainly produced a lot of discussion (did it for my book club too).

message 226: by Elle (last edited Jul 18, 2012 12:06AM) (new)

Elle (louiselesley) I started The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini last night!

If I would of known it was first person narrative I wouldn't of ever bought it(must use the sample or look inside more often!!)- boring me to death already and I'm less than 10% in! Plus I hate the writing style. May have to choose my second pick instead from your message Rebecka!

message 227: by Raven (new)

Raven (missy_aurora) | 0 comments I'm still working on Sapphique (Incarceron, #2) by Catherine Fisher I'm about halfway through it listening to the audio book and enjoying Finn and Cladia's part because of Finn being Jiles and someone else also saying he is Jiles but not Attia's or Kiero's parts because I see no real connection to Finn except that they want to escape too.

My library doesn't have any of these either. They aren't out on Danish yet, and they don't do english versions.

I guess I will have to pass this month then >_< Sorry

~Thena~ (athena-nadine) | 184 comments I tried. I really, really did. I forced myself to read halfway through Wicked The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West (The Wicked Years, #1) by Gregory Maguire , but I just couldn't finish it. Lys (lysrowan) Leigh-
I thoroughly enjoyed
Daughter of Smoke and Bone (Daughter of Smoke and Bone, #1) by Laini Taylor , as you know. 5 stars. Brilliant. I also quite enjoyed Halfway to the Grave (Night Huntress, #1) by Jeaniene Frost , it was very funny, and I found myself laughing out loud quite a few times. 4 stars. Hush, Hush (Hush, Hush, #1) by Becca Fitzpatrick was also pretty good, but not as much as the other two. 3 stars. Thank you for such wonderful selections. I already read the sequel to one and am planning on it for both of the others.
-----
NayNay-
I didn't get to The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (Millennium, #1) by Stieg Larsson this month, but I did read and enjoy both The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood and The Darkest Night (Lords of the Underworld, #1) by Gena Showalter . Thank you for selecting them for me. I have the sequel to Darkest Night out from the library right now.
