to answer the question: Yes, I try to at least read the book before watching the movie like what I am doing with The Time Traveler's Wife right now. But if I don't have time and the movie is that good, I don't have a choice but to watch it instead. (e.g. Cloud Atlas)

Yes, I did enjoy it until everything go confusing and then, I didn't have time to continue and then our live stream netflix got charged so we dropped it. But I'll probably pick it up sometime.
