Please Update Books Cover

Dear Librarians, Pocket in the Seaneeds to have the correct book cover -- the one it is showing right now is the old cover, of which only about 15 were printed and most all were given to a special group of people. How can I get you the correct image for this book?

We don't change covers, but we can add an alternate cover edition for you. In order to do that, we'll need a link to the new cover on a non-bookseller site and the exact ASIN(s) and/or ISBN(s) with which the new cover should be associated.

Assuming it is the edition with an ISBN currently listed, you (E.), as the author, can upload the cover image to that edition directly.

The no-ISBN edition will be the cover that shows up for as long as it is the one shelved by more users.

Okay. When I go to the book page, it does not give me the option to upload a new cover, only a picture related to the book (which expressly says it is NOT for book covers.

*facepalm* okay, I figured it out and then promptly uploaded the wrong image. Can someone delete that so I can try again on (this would be the paperback edition.) I'm sorry. My computer gives CRAP previews.

My book is not yet available through my publisher until July 26th, however, it was loaded onto Goodreads by a reader and I added the working cover to it. We are now about a month and a half from release, and the final cover has been approved. It is slightly different from the one that is loaded onto Goodreads and I'd like to get that updated. When I go into my author dashboard for the book, I see where it says "delete photo" but when I click on it, it says I don't have the authorization and need to be a Goodreads Librarian.

I put an incredibly low quality image file for the cover. But at least it's the right image.

Thanks. :) Yeah, it's just her eye color, but I still feel the readers will notice which is why we changed it.

How did you do it? I'm in the same place as you, seeing where I can edit my book "Martuk ... The Holy", but not seeing where I can update my cover. (makes a frustrated face)

I'm sure it's ridiculously easy, but ...

It takes 2-3 business days to get those requests approved. You'll get an email when you're approved.

As far as the cover of your book, was it ever published with the cover currently showing on GR?

Yes, the green cover. (I'm in a marketing blitz for TWK, so that's on the brain right now. Apologies) So, the green cover needs to be swapped out for the new cover seen in my avatar (and on the Amazon page).

If the book was initially published with the green cover, we can't change it. Policy is to create an alternate cover edition.

Thank you, Amara. I've created an Alternate Cover edition with a Librarian's Note and the ISBN at the bottom of my Description. I hope that's correct procedure. :)

It doesn't need to be an alternate edition for ISBN 9780615611150, as that was not in the database. I edited accordingly, and combined the two editions.

However, you may wish to also add an alternate cover edition for the Kindle edition, with ASIN B007HPQPV4.

Created the Alternate Cover edition for Martuk ... the Holy (ASIN included in the Librarian's Note). I assume the new cover for the combined editions (the red and black cover on my avatar) will show up in a little bit? (^~^)

The most shelved edition is what shows up as primary. Currently, that's the green cover; as users shelve the new editions, one of those may become the most popular.

Hi librarians, I hope someone can help me out here, my book Catch Me A Catch is showing the old cover of a previous version which was with my old publisher, rather than the current version which is self published. When clicking on the cover image, the link is to the correct version, but the cover is wrong. I've tried my best to sort this, with no luck, so would be very grateful for any help!

We do not delete covers from books that have been published - we create alternate cover editions, I have reversed your changes
