He wondered whether Will would understand if he told him how he felt for Tessa.

But he couldn't take a chance that it may hurt him.
So he didn't say anything
Will worried that his silence meant that he didn't understand
But then he thought of how Jem and Tessa had been growing closer and closer, and finally realized that Jem had feelings for her too.
heart broken and incredbly angry Will stormed out of the room, ready to take his anger out on some local ducks!!
Before Will reached the end of the hallway he saw that there was someone standing at the other end, staring at him intently..
He walked over and saw that it was Tessa
'What's wrong?' her voice was as soft as usual. But Will felt really pained and hurt.
Will could only look away and glare at the ducks, anger supressing his speech.
When Will didn't say anything, Tessa started to walk away
He watched her go past him and enter the room he had just come out from, He heard Jem saying something to Tessa as she entered and then the door swung shut.
He waited, wondering what they were talking about
"Tessa wait" He said, she turned to look at him with a inquirering gaze.
"What is it you you just said to to Jem?" She asked in what was almost a whisper.
She was only barely containing herself from yelling at him.
Will felt the colour drain from his face. He knew he couldn't tell Tessa the truth of how he felt so he shrugged casually "why do you ask?"...

Tessa was looking alarmed.
'Will. Just tell me what's wrong with you? You're not that Yo-I-am-crazy-and-I-want-to-make-out-with-you Will, instead you're please-Tessa-dont-hurt-me Will!!! What's wrong with YOU!!!??' Tessa demanded.
Will tried to avoid Tessa's grey eyes as he folded his arms in front of himself defensively. He sighed "Look Tessa, I'm 17 people change okay. Stop interrogating me and go make yourself useful somewhere else." He knew his abrupt response would hurt her but he didn't have any other option...
Tessa looked at Will with a hurt expression, then slowly started to walk away.
As predicted.'Will. Why must he be like that?' Tessa thought sadly.
Meanwhile, Will was hurt too. He sighed. He was very troubled. He decided to talk to Magnus about his problems.

Will knocked on Magnus' room door which he was staying in for the time being: 'It's Will' he added
When no one answered Will carefully eased the door open. Magnus's room was empty. Everything inside had been broken or turned upside down.
On closer inspection Will saw that a struggle must have taken place because in places there was demon blood and muddy footsteps of some sort of monster.
A roughly scribbled note lay on the ground. Will rcognised Magnus's neat writing...
The note read," I am sorry to be leaving so soon but I have decided, upon an attack from some of the demon ducks of the world( hence the messy room, Sorry Charlotte) I will be leaving to live in New Zealand to study and possibly exterminate them forever because of the possible threat to nature that they pose. Please understand that Ive always been interested in ducks so this will fufill my life long passion. Thank you all for letting me stay in the Instsitute, and please tell Will Herondale that I very much cared for him and always will. -Magnus." Will was awstruck...what should he do? {{ sorry for such a long post, i felt the letter needed to be finished all the way}}

It's when he turned around when he realised Tessa standing at the door, jaw open. She must have heard the whole thing! Will was paralysed.
[How on earth do they know that song!!??]Will flushed. He was speechless.
Then, Tessa began dancing around the room, singing...
'You.' Will cursed and stomped out of the door.'What's wrong with Will?' Jem asked Tessa.
"What isn't wrong with him?!" she said raising an eyebrow as he stormed away. "And what was that?" she suddenly said pointing a finger at a bright flash of something metallic that moved outside of the window.
Jem's eyes widened for merley a second before he regained his composture. "Nothing. Go inside."
"Excuse me?" Tessa asked, "I will not be ordered around by you!" she said poking his chest. "What gives you any right to talk to me that way?" She asked. Jem looked at her directly into her eyes, and stammered," I-I love you Tessa." She taken aback. Then he leaned in and placed his lips on hers!{thought the book deserved a sex scene....do with it what you will but please nothing to dirty}

Jem (now a toad) hopped out of the room and down the hall. Tessa quickly chased after him, scared and confused.
The morale of the story don't give your kisses away to any old guy, he may not be the one for you.
Jessamine closed the book she was reading and sighed.There was a young man kneeling before her holding up a beautiful ring.
"No" she said finally. "I cannot marry you.."
"oh," was all he said.Tessa abruply woke up from her bizzare dream, someone was knocking on the door. she got up and opened it. It was Jem, and he wasn't a toad, thank god!
He looked at her, cleared his throat, and said," Tessa I really care for you, would you marry me?" Tessa's heart almost lept out of her chest. "I-I....Will already asked me, and I haven't given him an answer yet," she explained.
Will<3 i wish that really happened in the book :(And...
Jem was so sad that started crying like a baby "Why Tessa" he mumble Sobbing "Why are you doing this to me?"
{{ahhh youre making me sad now}}"I'm sorry Jem but I'm going t accept his offer, I love you but its not the same with us as it is wih Will and I," she whispered.
Jem's eyes glistened with tears making them shine more silver than ever. Silently tears trickled down his pale face. Tessa felt her heart break for him as she took his hand and tried to console him. "Jem" she said softly "please try to understand". Jem's delicate fingers let go of Tessa's hand...
((why guys? whyyyyy? D: ))"Jem..." She tried again; almost a whisper. But Jem let go of her hand. Instead, he looked straight into her eyes from his own teary ones for a second, but for that second it felt he was staring into her soul. Dropping his eyes again, he stiffened, turned to walk away, but stopped midstride to say quietly: "It's okay," he tilted his head to where she was standing, "I will always wait, Tessa."
He hoped she couldn't hear his heart shattering into a million pieces as he walked away.
((I swear feel like crying this is heartbreaking stuff))Meanwhile, Will was headed to a demon run drug den in the dark back streets of London. Just as he was about to walk into his destination he felt very cold and weak. Something was wrong. For some reason his heart felt sad, broken even. Will clutched his suddenly painful parabatai rune as he tried to figure out what was happening to him. Why did he feel as if every hope and happiness in his heart had been smashed into a million pieces?
Girl. Its cloak fell fully back and Will felt his heart stop. She looked so much like...
His mother!"What's happening?" Will said almost inaudibly "What do you want?" He demanded. His posture as dominant as ever.
The mother looking creature replied with..
A snarl, and suddenly erie words came out of her, though her mouth didn't move. "give me the girl or else....."{{ahhhh i started crying reading the stuff up above}}
Will stared at the blue eyes of the automaton with horror. "Girl?! what girl? and what exactly are you supposed to be?" he asked as he slowly reached for his seraph blade...
and started to back away from the the thing that looked so much like his mother. His mind raced. Why was everyone out to get him?
He turned around and raced back to the Institute. "Tessa!" He said when he got to her room. He didn't even bother knocking before he entered. "Tess-," he stopped short when he saw a dark figure lurking near her bed.
It was the automaton. His mother's nasty smirk plastered on it's face. "How did you arrive here so fast?!" He yelled at her. The automaton slowly fixed her attention from Will to Tessa."This is the one he wants." His mother rasped.
"Well he can't have her, she is within the institute, leave her."
"Give her to me!" She snapped "Or I will take her myself." She said with an eerie grin.
