With one third of the world population, the two countries at the head of civilization at this point in time are China and India. They both got one foot deeply immersed in the past and one foot in the future, both have ambitious working green programs and both suffer from the worst extremes of industrialization. One country endorses spiritual ways, the other does not, for the time being anyway. Economic and technological powerhouses prove they are for real, and they don't worry about creationism, they don't need to, they know the value of a modern education. And that is what it all comes down to. You can't legislate intelligence or common sense. When you legislate the end result of a long process of accumulative events, all the wayward thoughts that brought you to the erroneous conclusions that need to be rewritten by legislation do not go away by themselves.
