Divergent vs. Twilight: Who Will Win?

I love the Twilight Saga, but I also love Divergent. If I had to choose between them however, I would choose Divergent. I am re-reading the Twilight series, and I'm also reading Insurgent. I LOVED DIVERGENT!!! I literally read Divergent in 4 days. FOUR AND TRIS WERE AWESOME! Tris was an amazing main character to read about! The book was fast paced and I just loved everything about it!The Twilight saga was amazing as well, in it's own way. The books are in completely different categories though. Both series are AMAZING!!! I love both of them.
Don't get me wrong, I love the Twilight saga. I have ever since I was 12-13 years old. It's what got me into reading in the first place and I will never dislike the series. But I love Divergent's storyline as well. Though- to me- you can't really compare the books just because, they are two completely different authors, different categories, and different story lines.
I loved Bella's love and compassion in the Twilight saga. But I also love Tris's strength, determination, and her ability to cope with difficult situations. The storyline of the first book in the Twilight saga was slow paced and introduces you to all new characters and to Stephenie Meyer's world. For me, I still love it, but the Twilight book itself, is my least favorite, or 2nd least favorite in the series (my first might be New Moon). But I didn't have any problems with Divergent at all, except that some parts were a little confusing for me because I read it so quickly I think I may have skimmed some of the book, but it's still in my top 5 favorite series and Twilight is also in my top 5. So I love them both.
OMG. I think I might cry. I actually cannot pick. Divergent is just AMAZINGLY FANTASTIC but Twilight is ROMANTICALLY, CRAZILY, AWESOME-LY ...just WOW!!! What to doooo???
Now isn't this biased...a Divergent group debating on Divergent vs. Twilight...let's see what happens if they put this on a Twilight group, lol :D
D I V E R G E N T All the way baby!!!!! Cant wait for it to hit theaters next year.......just gotta find a valid argument to convince my mom of the educational value.......
Ya know besides the fact i finished both books the day i got them (in the release dates) lolz she was just like i just got you that today!!!!
i don't like divergent and i don't mind twilight but if i had to choose it would be twilight not that i absolutely love twilight
Neither will win. Halloween 58, Part 77 will win!!!LOL
divergent hands down. No contest. What so ever. I mean, Twilight is great an all. A definite go to for a chick lit, but seriously.
DIVERGENT
DIVERGENT!!! All the way. I would definitely choose Divergent! I've read the Twilight saga as well and have been obsessed with it previously, but after a while it just got really old. I have been obsessing over Divergent for years! Twilight is good, but all it is is a paranormal romance aka love story. Divergent has so much more. Action, suspense, good plot, a love story, great writing, and it's dystopian. I've basically just been living off dystopian books for a while now and Divergent is unlike any other dystopian book I have ever read. It is such a unique idea, which is what got me hooked in the first place. Also, Veronica Roth's writing just sucks you in. So many dystopian books are about the same things that it gets really old. Divergent was something new. So, let's just say I really like Divergent and I choose it over Twilight.

i agree with everything you wrote nothing needs changing about what you wrote
I love Divergent better because I love how this is not a big love story like Twilight. This is more like an action life I want to get. I love that this covers bravery, courage, and heroism.
Divergent. It's perfectly paced unlike twilight, that had me stumbling through each and every chapter.
I love Twilight and always will. Twilight always will. It rates as high as hunger games. But Twilight beats it out by far. Twilight rates the highest.

Hunger Games
Twilight
Divergent
HG was trumpeted as the ultimate page turner and it lived up to that by me. That first book was so good I finished the rest of the series, even when I wasn't feeling books 2 and 3 very much.
I had zero interest in Twilight until it became phenomenon #2 behind HP, then I was basically forced to read it. Reading through dozens of reviews first, what stood out to me as the selling point was how well it captured the emotions of a head over heels sixteen year old girl and that emotion resonated with ladies of all ages. With that in mind I read it, and I think I saw the point. But it wasn't enough to compel me to read any further.
Divergent had no outstanding point that I could see defining it before I read it. I saw it compared to HG and other dystopia books and described as a good read but that's about it. And that's what it turned out to be. Like Twilight, I didn't find it strong enough to drive me through the next book.
I also factor in the fact that the furor stage for Twilight is long past and criticism of it as a work has grown, while Divergent appears to be in its furor stage, still picking up steam. It's good but I can't see it surpassing the Twilight or even the HG furor.
So while I could say that I enjoyed Divergent a bit more, I feel like Twilight in all its wackiness was the slightly better book for hitting its mark, and HG nailed its mark better than either of the other two and was the most enjoyable (although disturbing) read of all three.
