Oh I hadn't thought about that. i looked to see if it was in my library, which it was, I forgot to check on reserves. As a new release it may have lots on it..better get my name on that reserves list.
Phew. Thanks for bringing up the reserves, Darcy. I got in line. Two copies, one due back March 22, one due back late April.
My library system has three copies of A Burnable Book - so it shouldn't be any problem getting it - unfortunately my hold list is maxed out, so I can't put it on hold until something else comes in :(

This is my favorite Marston series - unfortunately he isn't hasn't written any new ones in a awhile. My hold list at the library is now full of his more modern serieses

Neither has he written any of his Restorian mysteries. Which is deeply disappointing. :(
Dawn wrote: "How many holds do you have that you can't put any more in??"I was thinking that too! happy, you must have a lot of books on hold. lol
Dawn wrote: "How many holds do you have that you can't put any more in??"We are limited to 15 - but 2 are ready for pick up, unfortunately 2 of the books I have out have to go back so unread (somebody else wants to read them, so I can't renew them (pout)) so they will go back on hold. There is also a limit of 15 checked out at anyone time
happy is a lucky guy. I seem to recall that his spouse is a librarian. He probably has free reign at a certain library. ;)
When I was doing the polls up, I very nearly put this cover in for Conscience of the King
That cover is so kitsch that it is a thing of beauty! :]
I especially like that the 5th century lady is dressed like a 50's movie star.

Wow, now there's a surprise, Conscience of the King is now leading over The Song of Troy by 2 votes (as of right now as I post this message). It has been trailing by a couple until now and suddenly it is in front by two.
In the Medieval it looks like A Burnable Book will be our winner. It is too far in front to lose now.

Since it clearly will win the poll, I think it is okay to reveal...To coincide with the group read of A Burnable Book I am going to be doing an interview with the author Bruce Holsinger on the A&M blog, plus he will be joining in with us on the group read of his book.
He is looking forward to seeing people's thoughts on his book (and yes, he understands that the critique will include negative as well as positive) and I am looking forward to having his company in the discussion.
So there's that extra enrichment of the group read to look forward to. :-)
I can hold 25 books. I am not sure what the limit on checked out books is. I know at times I have as many as 50 checked out. It all depends on how much time I let my girls spend picking out books that week. I am excited for the author participation in this group read! I had to search every library in the state of Minnesota for an available copy of this book! I finally found one!

yep, its a mystery. Not sure how much, but by the reviews, I'd say it is a strong theme.
I'll probably read this one; the library is in the process of acquiring it, so I don't know when they'll have it in but my name is on the list.
I don't think I'll get mine for the beginning of the month but I should get it in May at least. I'm #6 but there are 4 copies....
Oh, that is annoying. Somebody voted while I was away at the Doctors and now we have a tie in the Ancient.I would have changed my vote at the last minute to avoid having three books as group reads...but I had to do a last minute trip to the doctor.
I can't split myself three ways into three discussions next month. Good luck to those on the Conscience of the King read. Hope it is a great read. :)
I will be reading A Burnable Book and The Song of Troy

I definitely wasn't expecting the Medieval one to be this close. Thought for sure my pick would be out in no time.
Corrag wasn't it? Yeah, I thought it would get its butt served to it on a shield by The Ill-Made Knight.
Me too. Mostly because it is the one I haven't read and secondly because I really, really, really don't want anymore ties!
If Corrag wins, I hope it doesn't turn out to be fantasy.I thought it looked non fantasy and it has been on my list for the polls for a while. The thread asking for recommendations on non fantasy witchy stuff prompted me to move it up the list.... but then Dawn mentioned the audiobook has the title Witch Light
That makes it sound like something fantasy might happen.
Based on the reviews, I think we're safe. That seems to be more about witch hunt/wise woman in the historical sense, not magical.
I vote for "The Lion and The Lamb" for the other poll because I like the cover.
, The Lion and the Lamb. :)

Had to place a hold for the A Burnable Book will have to read it as I get it though, since it's immensely popular here, and there are only 5 copies in the entire system, and they've all got holds on them. Which means I'll be reading it whether it wins or not. ha!
