The Host question

The Host alll the way! It is definitely better. I read the series and The Host very long ago and even though the memory of both are fuzzy but the of the two The Host stuck.

The Host was well and truly BEAUTIFUL!Perfectly crafted characters, and you can't help but fall in love with them.And the love triangle ended the way I liked it.Ian was the most lovable and selfless character for me!

While I can certainly see why Twilight has captured many a teenager's heart, it was The Host that caught and kept my attention. It persuaded me to see Myers as an author of which to take note.

The Host was a book I couldnt put down. I read it long after the Twilight series (Didnt know she wrote anything else) and to me it was almost like two diff authors. I kept saying, SHE wrote twilight? AFTER this???? Wouldnt mind a sequel :)

The Host. It has a certain hold on people who read it. It's different, more so then sparkleing vampires.

I really enjoyed the Host. I've read it twice. I also liked the Twilight series very much. The Host is about such a different topic to me that it doesn't even seem like the same Stephanie Meyer who wrote Twilight.

The Host, duh. It's a really good book.

The Twilight series was imaginative, especially her personal slant on vampire characteristics that violated previously accepted boundaries, but The Host was BRILLIANT! It may forever be eclisped by Twilght's huge fan base, but it's a much more mature theme and style. I wrestled for five years with the whole notion of reincarnation, looking at it from multitudinous angles, but she delved deeper than I had. Great characters. Great plot. And if the mark of a literary masterpiece is lasting effect, then The Host is definitley a masterpiece. One of my all-time top twenty!

I liked both books for different reasons. The Host was hard for me to get through the first hundred pages.....after that, I loved it. The different relationships among the characters was wonderful. It was hard to put down. It left me wanting more.
I love the Twilight series for a quick read, no brainer. It was a nice fictional love story.

The Host was a MUCH better concept than Twilight, but the Host was written so poorly that I didn't enjoy it in its entirety. I loved the first part, but then it started to and there was no major conflict aside from Wanda not wanting the Souls to get hurt. I actually prefer Twilight.

Definitively The Host was better. The main character has a lot more character and the story is more profound with a stronger theme. The Host was not just romantic, but it touched in other facts of humanity, good and bad. I had a hard time reading the Twilight series, because the main character was always so weak. I enjoy books were the main character is strong and sensitive, and the host portrays that better.

I think the host shows Stephenie Meyer's ability as a writer,it really showed her story telling skills handling two characters in one, but I thought Twilight was a better book, but the host was very good too, I just think it wasn't as relatable as Twilight.

I agree with ehat everyone is saying. In my opinion the Host shows what Stephine Meyer is capable of. After reading Twilight five times I went from loving it to hating it because I saw the lack of substance. The Host I can still read and it is not boring.

The Host is infinitely better. Twilight is all right but it doesn't really compare.

Twilight was better. The host was really good but it started off reaaaaaally slow and you have to wait until you have read more than half the book in order for the book to pick up pace and anything to really start happening.

Twilight is ok, but the host is better. There are already too many vampire books out there anyway. I think that the host is unique. I never would have thought of that idea. Who even knew it would involve a love triangle? The host is really great. I would even read it a second time just because it's so amazing.

I was really into the whole Twilight thing when I was reading the series, and I really enjoyed it and I cried at the end because it was over and all that stuff, but now that I've read so many other books, I have to say that I don't really like the Twilight books. I don't like the main characters, Bella annoys me so much, her whole world revolves around her love interest and she doesn't care about anything else, except for the fact that she wants to be with Edward. She basically dumbed her family, because she wanted to be a vampire and live with her boyfriend forever. That's just stupid. But I loved The Host, I cried so hard and I loved the characters, especially Wanda and Ian. The Host is definitely in my top ten favorite books list. So I think that The Host is better, just because it has to do with other things rather than love, like friendship and selflessness. Wanda and Melanie were so much stronger and better characters than Bella.

I read the first Twilight book, and just didn't like it.... I picked up the Host, and I loved it.

I absolutely hate Twilight. I think Edward is controlling, manipulative, and abusive; I find Bella to be a flat, poorly-written main character. I like Jacob... until he's suddenly in love with a baby?! The series as a whole is just an overplayed, badly written story of a weak girl trying to choose between an abusive man and a man who later becomes a pedophile. The Host, on the other hand, is one of my favorite books, if not my number one. It's a story about freedom, humanity, and spirit. There is no set of good guys and bad guys, and yet the characters and the reader still have to determine right from wrong. What constitutes life and what makes us human are the core of this story; the romance simply adds to this base with the struggles Melanie and Wanda face as two beings in one body.

Personally, I like the Twilight books better because there are more of them. Although I absolutely loved The Host, it's not a book in a series. I know that the titles of the second and third books have already come, but I'm beginning to believe that the books themselves never will. So if I have to choose, I would choose the Twilight books, seeing as there are four of them. However, I LOVED both Twilight and The Host.

The Host is so freeaaking amazing! All the powerful relationships in the book are just...wow. Melanie & Jamie, Melanie & Jared, Jeb and Wanda, Wanda & Jamie, everything that had to do with Walter. Ugh I love that book.

I think The Host is a better book but the movie was horrid. Like kick you in the crotch spit on your neck awful! To be fair, I don't really like the Twilight movies either but I can watch them and laugh at how awful they are. The Host is just unbearable
