Personality: Alex is generally quiet, rarely showing his emotions (the "strong and silent type"). He is color blind, but has adjusted well. Alex is sarcastic by nature, and is negative about almost everything, because he has a hard time looking at the positive side.
History: He has always been the artsy one. He had trouble growing up, and felt bad for living with his sister, Andraya and his brother Dante. As the oldest, he believed he should have taken most of the responsibility, and hated the fact that he was color blind (see's no color at all).

Personality: He'll do almost anything to make someone smile, just because that's the kind of guy he is. He likes to say those things that lead to awkward silences, just because no one else will say them...especially to girls. He has an air of confidence and superiority, and he isn't oblivious to his looks. Its not that he doesn't care...he just isn't the type of person to show it.
Roman will never be the first to admit he's done something wrong. Nor will he ever admit to loosing. He is the type to get a little jealous, and if you call him out on it-he'll most likely deny that too. If you expect him to tell you he likes you-forget it. You probably won't be recieving compliments from him, unless they doulbe as innuendos.
History: Roman's parents were a bit of a wild couple. They both went to the Masquerade when they were seventeen, and 'fell in love'. Its obvious though, that if they ever were in love, its simply lost its luster now.
The Marcella parents fight all the time, and often kick the boys out so they can argue louder....not that it ever stops them if they stay. They have never really been the caring nurturing type of people, so Spencer and Roman rely on each other for support.
Roman learned not to expect much from his parents at a very young age. He doesn't mind the idea of the Masquerade, and hopes to have fun there. He is only skeptical about the girl he'll end up with. He doesn't want to have a relationship like his parents have...
Since his brother was in no hurry to go to the dance, Roman convinced Spencer to wait a year, so they could go together. He just...couldn't take the idea of letting Spencer go alone-only for him never to return. Everyone knows the rumors...
Other: Roman loves his brother Spencer. He's probably the only person Roman has ever cared substantially for.

Personality: Spencer is shy when it comes to admitting his feelings, but he'll talk and joke around easily enough. He doesn't take people seriously though, and sometimes doesn't realize when the time is certainly not right to joke. He is incredibly selfless, and is sweet beyond reason. This would allow people to take advantage of him, but he's not stupid. Not even close. He always has the first impulse to protect others before himself. (Which is why he can be selfless without realizing it.) And you'd have to do a lot to make him angry--probably something to do with his brother. Hurt his brother...there's no turning back.

Spencer has always tried to shield Roman from all the bad things in life, most of all the Masquerade. He has accomplished this to a point. This is how he developed his protective nature. Although there has always been a part of him that thought Roman was better than him...and he's come to believe it as a fact.
Other: Without his brother, Spencer doesn't really know what he would do. In a way, they are total opposites, and it keeps them balanced. And they get along surprisingly well, probably because they basicially take care of each other.

Personality: Malick is a two-sided person. He can be rough and aggressive but also has a soft side that takes a little bit of work to tap into. He tries to make anyone laugh, but can be just as serious and formal when he needs to be. Also, he can be goofy sometimes and have so much fun he doesn't even realize it.
History: He grew up in a family with three older brothers, which is where he got his agressive side from. They use to fight, play sports, joke around, and wrestle all the time. He probably had a new bruise every day and a scar every-other week. He even has one just under his chin line that he needs to tilt his head for you to see. But years later, after all three of his brothers had gone through their own Masquerade, his parents were surprised with a little girl. But soon after she was born, both parents got in a crash and were forced to stay in bed and weren't able to fully heal for at least a year. In that time, he learned to bring out his sweet side and take care of his little angel. He doesn't like showing how sensitive he can be to others.

(view spoiler) Description: A beautiful bright green dress that is princess style. It use to be her mother's when she went to the masquerade. Even if it isn't as modern as most of the dresses, she's proud to wear it.

Personality: Gwen is such a push-over. She is always smiling and making jokes. Once she gets to know you, you're instantly her best friend. She has been hurt before by people taking advantage of her and her kind personality, but she has forgiven them. Other people's happiness comes before her own and she's always concerned about everyone else before her. Gwen is very giving, and does her best to keep everyone in the room happy, even at her own expense. She has a nervous habit of playing with her hair when she's worried about something, but shrugs anything off anyone does to her. She would gladly sacrifice anything to keep someone else happy, even if she knows consequences will come later. Although she always doesn't show it, she's hurting on the inside. But because she's been through it so much, she can easily mask it. There's a certain half-smile with her eyebrows slightly raised that she can get on her face that tells you she's trying her best to keep you happy, but it hurts her. Not many people know it, only her cousins she is currently living with knows.
History: Growing up as an only child with only her mother, her father died when she was two years old, they lived a happy life together. Gwen's mother was even happier than Gwen and even with her husband's death, loved her little girl with all her heart. Even when she was bed-stricked with a sickness the doctor she knew she wasn't going to heal from, she smiled every day and told Gwen how beautiful and pround she was of her. It was hard for Gwen, and it had been the first time she had cried in her life. After that, it was hard living at her cousin's house, but she eventually got over her parent's death and tried to live life as happy as her mother.

Personality: Polite but shy.She enjoys reading and horse back riding. She grew up in a country environment so her social skills are not quite the best. She hopes to become more outgoing by moving into the city with her aunt.
History: She grew up with her two parents and her sister that is two years younger. Her parents are of french descent so the daughters have their accents. Her mother fell ill two years ago so she and the girls' father moved for her health while the girls moved in with their sweet elderly aunt who had become a widow a while back. Now they are adjusting to the city life and Marie is preparing for her turn at the Masquerade.

Personality: Elder is quite a charming young man. He comes from a very high-class family so has been brought up quite well. He is intelligent and seems to always be there for others. He's selfless and always puts other people before himself. Elder can be shy sometimes and he is very quiet when it comes to meeting new people.
History: Elder was raised in a very high-class family and his parents are very social. They spoiled him when he was younger and gave him everything he wanted. Although this happened, it has not rubbed off on his personality. He has been taught how to be a gentlemen and didn't really have very much of a childhood. He's shy because he never got to play with kids when he was younger, since his parents were very protective. He has been trained all his life for the ball, so he knows that he is ready for what awaits.

Personality: She is an incredibly smart girl, she isn't arrogant but her aloofness often gives off the impression that she thinks she is better than everybody else. She is a sweet girl, filled with nothing but dreams and aspiration. She is witty and loves a good debate, she is a relaxed person and tends not to get herself wound up in anything she can't handle. She is too curious for her own good, inquisitive and asks a lot of questions.
History: Her parents treat her as if she is their doll, they love to dress her up and show her off to their friends. She is their only child and isn't interested in being in the spotlight, her parents are rich and love their daughter very much. They have been preparing Miranda for the Masquerade for years and have high expectations as to who she will choose to spend the rest of her life with.

Personality: Delilah is a diva! She is a drama queen and a spoiled b!tch. She was spoiled from the day she was born, and is used to everything going her way. If it doesn't she will make sure whose ever fault it was is punished, severely. Delilah has a very bad temper too. She will freak out if something happens to her that she does not like. Delilah is also very excited for the Masquerade and can not wait to find her new husband!
History: Delilah's parents are very rich, very successful people. They are very famously known in the area. Also the day Delilah was born, they got every possible toy, dress, etc etc for her. Spoiling her before she could even crawl. If something didn't please their daughter, they made sure it would. As a result Delilah became the bratty b!tch she is.
Last year she was unable to go to the Masquerade because she was sick and put everyone through hell, especially her maid (Zaina), making her do every little thing, criticizing every little thing that went wrong, blaming it on her.
Other: Zaina is her personal maid, and family laundress. Delilah gave her old masquerade dress to Zaina for this year's masquerade, because she got herself a new one.

Personality: Shelby is a sweetheart, she’s nice to just about everyone. Well, just about, if someone decides that they have the right to pick on her, then all bets are off. She’s going to defend herself no matter who you are, or who you think you are. At times she can be very outgoing, but—especially around guys—she’s very shy. Though she tries to push herself out of her comfort zone, how else is she going to get someone to notice her? Very self conscious about her looks, as most girls are. Shelby doesn’t have a temper per say, if you subtract the earlier fact of defending herself that is, and is an easy person to talk to. At times she can even be funny, but she’s no jester and keeps her stress pressed under her attitude.
History: Shelby’s family isn’t exactly… wealthy, but they’re not poor either! At least that’s the best thing that they can really get out of their situation. Her mother and father have never really been a fan of the Masquerade. They had been friends since as long as they could remember, and once reaching the age of 18 they both attended the Masquerade, where they decided that they would rather spend the rest of their life with each other than with someone else. Apparently they had spent all night together, seeing no one else, or that’s what they said.
They had two children, in other words, Shelby has an older brother, whom has already been to the Masquerade, he had married someone that Shelby believed was absolutely perfect for him. Whereas their parents didn’t much approve, so because of that he and his wife never came and visited. Not even on holidays where they there, only do they come of Shelby’s birthday. Once a year she sees her brother because her parents don’t approve of just about anything.
And to make matters worse, they want her to be like them, not like her brother, and marry her best friend. She loves Kingston, he's probably the biggest romantic out there you could find, but she doesn't love him like that.

Personality: Dani is one of those good listeners. She'll sit with you for hours on end, listening to what's bothering you or what's on your mind. She can be quiet, not really talkitive. But deep down she's fiery, a ticking time bomb. She's very straightforward and abrupt. Beating around the bush isn't her thing. If she has something to say she'll let you know then and there what she thinks about you. She's one of those loyal types, sticking with you through thick and thin. Screw her over and that's it. You've lost her as a friend. She doesn't trust easily and it is difficult to get past her walls. If you're lucky enough to do that then congrats.
History: Dani had a twin brother, but unfortunately he died during the birth of them. Her mother died months later, having gotten sick from the childbirth. She lives with her ruggishly handsome father whom she loves dearly. He raised her to believe in the Masquerade. That it is very important to their lives. Though she sort of thinks it's nonesense she trusts what he says.
Other: She's rather old fashioned in some ways, prefers night to day, and loves to dance in the rain.

Personality: Esmé is fiery, there is no other way to really say it. She is completely hot blooded and opinionated. She didn't used to be like this but something happened in her past that caused her to change. Esmé is strong and brave, she takes the time to make sure that her voice is heard. She is very stubborn as well.
She is very seductive as well, she likes to get exactly as she pleases and this is about the only way she sees can get her the things she wants. Esmé is highly flirtatious, she enjoys to play with boys' feelings because they have hurt her so much in her life.
Esmé can be blank and emotionless at times, but this is when she goes into her "trances". In these, she believes to see glimpses of the future, no one can change her mind and say she isn't seeing the future. The things she sees have actually happened before.
History: Esmé had a very plain and wealthy life. She would go to school, learn, and then come home. She was the perfect daughter. Until the day her mother died, she was only 10, and scarier still, Esmé knew it was going to happen. She had seen it in a dream. Her father became a drunk after her mother died. He came home very drunk when she was 15, and he overpowered her and raped her, blaming her for her mother's death.
Esmé ran away, her heart and soul broken. She ended up finding an old fortune teller woman, here she tapped into her future seeing abilities. Esmé still cannot call upon the future when she wishes, but they visions are clearer now. She carries around tarot cards everywhere and enjoys telling the future to anyone who asks for it, they don't have to believe in it but she still likes it.
Other: Esmé has a star tattoo on the back of her neck, (http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Ry-8gnOIXQw...) and she has dreamt of the Masquerade all her life. Though her situation has been hard she knows that she is meant to find a man who will love and care for her unlike her father.
Esmé adores dancing, though her style of dance is quite different from those who attend the Masquerade, her dancing is mystifying and enchanting.

Personality: Kristofer is very charming when he wants to be. He likes to play hard-to-get, however, and sometimes his intentions are unclear. He is funny, though, and he likes to flirt, dance, and have a good time. He has been taught to treat girls with respect, so although he may play with them a little, he never lets it get out of hand. He gets jealous easily, especially if he sees another guy flirting/dancing with a girl he has his eye on. He will be very loyal and loving to his partner and he will never let her ever doubt herself. At the end of the day, he just wants to leave the masquerade with a nice girl who will love him as much as he will love her.
History: Kristofer grew up in a large family. His two parents were good-natured and liked spending quality time with their children. He is the youngest of four sons, and his three older brother are already happily married to lovely wives they met at the masquerade. Sometimes he feels pressure from his parents to be as good as his brothers and find a good wife quickly and without trouble. His biggest fear is letting his parents down because he respects them so much. No one in his family has ever had a bad experience at the masquerade and he does not want to be the first.

Personality: is quiet, emotionless, studious, and sarcastic. She can always come up with a witty remark. cool and calm, even in desperate situations. She is, however, also the most emotionally-restrained. secretive and distant. She's afiad of contact with people because she's very empathetic and the emotions around her sometimes become to much.
History: Kekets family is a high socility Masqurade belivers. Luka on the other hand is very fearful of it. SHe has it stuck in her head that it's a big comsparisy.This caused her familt to belive she had parinoia schixophrenia and started medicating her. At 17 she refused to go to her parents horror. Since them she wasnt allowed to leave the her room until this night. They had locked her in there hoping the rehabilitate her. It only stregthened her hatred and fear.

Personality: Cora isn't a totaly girly-girl; she doesn't mind getting dirty or sweating and she isn't dainty and weak. But she does enjoy looking nice and has always been kind of excited for the ball. She is normally too shy to talk to guys, but at the ball, she pretty much has to. Plus, she likes the idea that she'll be able to hide behind a mask. She's heard other kids talking aobut how they hate the ball, or how they just want everyone to get paired off and live happily ever after, but Cora always thought, why would it be so bad to live happily?
History: Cora has always been a dancer. She's not a fierce person normally, but as soon as she's practicing or performing she becomes someone different. She can change her attitude to fit the dance, and she never complains about training. Her mother danced when she was younger, but after the ball she just never really picked it up again. Cora is sure that won't happen to her, though. Even if she ends up with a husband and a family, she knows she will never stop dancing. It's pretty much been her life until now. She's afraid of the changes the ball will bring... but she's excited and curious, too.

Personality:Alex is sarcastic and has quick bursts of anger, that go as quickly as they came, but he can be nice, sweet, and caring. He doesn't particularly like dressing up, but he will when he has to. He can talk to girls, but he does get nervous at first. But once he starts to get to know them, he's easy to talk to. He's pretty easy going and is the kind of guy everybody can like, until his temper returns. Although his tempers usually only last ten minutes, there are times when they last a lot longer than that, like if you get him really mad.
History:Alex was a single child, he didn't mind that, but it got lonely sometimes. He isn't really a sporty person, but he does do a little bit of dance. He isn't the best dancer but he enjoys it and doesn't really care what other people think about him dancing. When he dances, he doesn't get his tempers when he dances. His father didn't really want him to dance, he said it wasn't natural for a boy to dance, but he did it anyway. Eventually his dad accepted that Alex would keep dancing no matter what, and supported him. Alex is afraid that after the ball he won't want to dance anymore, but he is also excited for what will happen at the dance.

-Arianna's a very unpredictable person
-She likes to play along, whether with sarcasm or seduction, it makes no difference to her. if you're hot she's sure to talk to you, or get your attention somehow.
-She can be selfish, no doubt about that.
-Hates being told what to do, absolutely hates it.
-Arianna's insecure, and can be selfish because of it. Never does she dare show that side of her, that side that if you break through her hurdles, she crumbles like a stone wall. She's just a mess holding herself together.
-She most definitely has a sweet side to her but that takes some time to get... tapping into that side of her is hard and once you get there she doesn't much want to talk at that point. She can go from sarcastic and flirty to quiet and unguarded.

History: Arianna was born into a... strange family, to put it mildly. And to be honest it wasn’t her parents that were strange, oh hell no. It was her brother. He hated the idea of the Masquerade, absolutely hated it..! Notice he hated it. Yeah, he's no longer with them anymore. Let's start from the beginning.
Asher was born 5 years before Arianna and always fought with his mother and father about the Masquerade and love and blah blah blah, sure he was five but he knew the just about it, considering his parents always talked about that night. Usually when they did he should've been in bed, but he was a rebel from the beginning, even in footie pajamas. He'd stay up hours past his bedtime, until he got caught one night. Or more like, made himself known. he was at least 10 by then, making Arianna 5.
"That's not love." he stated, his face twisted up in disgust.
"Asher!" his mother had exclaimed, "To bed straight away!"
"You're not in bed." he'd scoffed. "Which I consider to be a good thing, two children is enough in a soc--"
"Asher," his father had got to his feet, grabbing his son by the sleeve of his shirt and dragging him towards the stairs.
"You don't love her." Asher'd yanked away from him and begrudingly walked up the stairs. His father had said something else, but he hadn't heard, or hadn't wanted to hear. To him they were the same thing.
Arianna had heard that conversation that night with a furrowed eyebrow in her bedroom, she was lucky enough to have a room just above the living room, which is where the argument had taken place. Since then Asher just had gotten worse, and by the time he went to the Masquerade, aged 18, he never came back... Arianna's terrified of the Masqruade, inwardly, so she just keeps her attitude... well, the way it is. It'll get her someone, it has to. She'll be fine.

Personality: Nathaniel is... Uh, not understood. He has an attitude, coming off as a jerk with his snappy tongue, but this is only when you first meet him! Sure, he can be difficult and stubborn, but he really is a cool guy. If you stick around to see that side of him. He's really rude, and even embarrassing. He has a temper, and is sarcastic. He is like the rebel kid, always doing the opposite of what was instructed. He's simply his own person, and hates being controlled. You better watch out though, because he has a way with words (smooth-talker-slash-charmer!), and can easily convert you to his side...
History: Does he have to say it? He hated his parents that were so in love, it made him sick. He has a little brother and sister that happen to be a set of twins, and he will die protecting them from trouble - even if he's trouble himself. Finding out about the masquerade made him upset. He didn't want to go! Especially when he found out its purpose. Can someone say lame? Maybe cliché? Like people really fell in love after spending only a few hours with each other. Anyway, his parents find him disrespectful, and probably hopes he doesn't come back at all. If you're not catching on, he basically doesn't believe in any of the BS the government says. Once again, he's bending the rules. Grew up in an overall average household, though.

Personality: Miquel is sort of a playful dork. He loves to joke around and make new friends. Don't get me wrong - he can whoop some ass if necassary. He just doesn't like to come to that position. He's loving, sweet, daring and a jokester. He's one of those old fashioned guys waiting a while before he takes that leap with a girl. He doesn't like to rush things simply letting fate take its course. He's a bit sensitive at times, but can be extremely mysterious. He can also be a bit cocky with himself.
History: Born and raised with five siblings, two younger sisters and three older brothers. They don't believe in the Masquerade really - he doesn't either, not really - but he is curious about it all. He constantly asks questions on how it works and why people have to be fated to each other, but now it's his turn to see.
Other: He sucks at dancing - two left feet - but he will attempt it at the ball. The tattoos in the pic he does have, he plays the piano, and has a thing for comics.

Personality: Elliot is just about always a total d-bag. In his mind, what you see is what you get, and when he sees what he wants he expects he gets it. He isn't afraid to jump for what he wants either, and most definitely isn't afraid to fight for it either. Hell, he'd enjoy a good fight every once in awhile. Despite his cocky, bastard attitude Elliot's very protective over what he loves, one of those things being his being sister. Mess with her, mess with him. All beats are off. It's rare to see that side, though.
History: Jedediah has had an interesting life. His mother fell ill when he was five and she passed away when he was seven on the night of the Masquerade. His dad, well nobody really knows what happened to him after his wive's death. He just disappeared. Some say he took his life, others say he ran away, but he was gone. Whatever happened, Jedediah was now orphaned. He lived with his much older brother on a farm. As young as ten, he was working his butt off to survive on the farm. Now that he's seventeen, he's going to the Masquerade. He doesn't like or dislike it. Personality: Ember's the kind of person who's always straight forward with you. She doesn't lie, and doesn't even bother to sarcastic. She doesn't like sarcasm, so if you use it on her it's as good as just saying nothing to her. She's a great judge of character and has been lied to so many signs there's almost no chance of you telling her a lie without her knowing, and if she figures out your lying, she'll call you out on it. Trying to mess with her isn't recommended, as she holds a grudge and always gets her way. Not because she's spoiled though, just stubborn. Ember doesn't like to be told what to do, so don't try to, she'll just ignore you. What Ember really needs is someone who can be just as daring as her, but still know when to stop, because along with her pride, her other major flaw is that she can take things a bit too far sometimes.
History: Ember's parents have always been a mystery to her. She knows her mother did something bad enough to cause herself to disappear, but other than that she has no idea what the woman was, or is, like. She was an extremely rich woman. She disapproved of her daughter, Nolan's mother, marrying such a poor man like his father so much that she refused to have any part of that family. Unfortunately for her, Nolan had no where else to go. The next six years of his life were awful! Grandmother believed in giving misbehaving children a sound beating, and in her eyes if Nolan even looked at her for more than five seconds it was misbehaving. He started to get used to the term "awful child" and he started to believe it. On his sixth birthday, Grandmother had a heart attack. He was terrified that he would be blamed for killing his grandmother, so he ran away.
Nolan lived on the streets for a long time. He was a very good hider, from living with Grandmother. He found leftovers from the garbage and for three years he survived. One day, the nine year old boy met a girl named Melony. She was one year older than him. She looked at Nolan and crossed her arms ad demanded to know, why he was so awfully dirty? Nolan was rather offended and explained that he didn't have a home. The little girl dragged him home to her merchant parents. Nolan explained his life and how he was living on the streets. The father decided, in exchange for work in their shop, he could live there. Eventually, they grew together and he became a part of the family.
