The book list in the Nora Roberts group has the listing of her titles by series and single issue. Her single issue books are all considered to be romantic suspense.

I just started a new series that I think fans of this one will enjoy. It's Debra Webb's Faces of Evil series, beginning with Silence, which is the prequel. The next book is Obsession, which I just finished, too. It's a continuing character arc where, like In Death, the cases conclude but the personal stuff develops with each book. I'm hopelessly hooked now and just want to plow through the rest of the series.

Thanks for the recommendation...adding it to my list.

Kirsten (kmcripn) The closest I ever came was the series by Suzanne Enoch starring Rick Addison and his former cat burglar girlfriend A Touch of Minx was the final book in the series. (So sad!)

You are both welcome (Sandra and Sheri)!

Sparky (sparky778967) | 1 comments The most similar one I found was the Guild Hunter series by Nalini Singh.
It has somewhat a police procedural sense to it. Both male and female leads share a lot in common with Eve and Roarke( Like too much really) except it is based in a paranormal setting. Raphael like Roarke is a super-powerful leader in New York, unreasonably sexy, protective, and loyal. Elena like Eve is a career-minded, law enforcement agent, damaged from childhood, fiercely loyal and rule-abiding.
The series are soooooo similar, I can't really explain. Except Raphael is an Archangel and Elena is a born Vampire Hunter.

I’ve started that series and loved it. But, both characters feel very different, especially the supernatural element. Elena’s very impulsive and Raphael doesn’t have Roarke’s sensitivity (he’s pretty ruthless). I like both but they feel opposite in nature.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1131 comments I love Nalini Singh's series, but I have to agree with Jonetta.

Despite the surface similarities between Eve/Elena (traumatic childhoods and law enforcement careers) and Roarke/Raphael (powerful and gorgeous alpha males), the supernatural world building and overall story arc in the Guild Hunter give the two series a very different vibe.

As much as I love Roarke (and he is an amazing hero and tremendously powerful man in the In Death series), Raphael is in a league of his own by his very nature as an archangel of immense power. For this reason, I don't think I would compare the two series.

Sally (hertslionessbooks) Hi, I’ve just joined the group, not sure if anyone has suggested Marie Force’s Fatal Series? Very engrossing reads, secondary characters are superb, a few similarities with detective sergeant Samatha Holland and her senator husband Nick. Murder/mystery theme in every book, and just the right amount of romance. imo 😊

I’ve read that one, too, and they’re very similar.

I agree! Love the series, but it has a different feel than In Death to me.

Yes! Love the Fatal series!

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3061 comments I read eight of the Fatal series. I enjoy reading the series, but it isn't as consistently good (to me) as the In Death books. Of course, if you ask my cousin she says the exact opposite. LOL

I started the In Death series long before I found the Fatal series. I wonder if that makes a difference.
