Hi! I just sent a friend request via facebook to the VF group if that's okay - my facebook name is the same as my goodreads. I belatedly realised there was a VF Down Under group today.

Hi Leona,I'm happy to help. For your Google+ profile you'll need to be logged into your Google account first. Then while you're logged in go to plus.google.com. Once you're there you can go to the menu on the left, it should say "home" but if you hover over it a drop down menu will open and from there you can choose profile. Then copy and paste that web address here.
To join the FaceBook page just click this link and it will tell you to click a button to request to join. It will send me a message saying you've asked to join and I'll approve you. Once I've done that you'll be able to see VF Down Under in your menu on the left to get access.

Due to a lack of interest as expressed on the Facebook page, our Hangout this month has been cancelled. Hopefully we'll have more interest for the pick next month.

We're an online group that meets during Google+ Hangouts like the ladies do in the official hangouts. Originally we were a bit too spread out for face to face meet-ups.
Currently I'm not aware of any face to face meet-ups in Australia, but that doesn't mean you can't get one started!

Hi Everyone,I've reached a point that I think I knew would come. My involvement in other groups and my lack of interest in the VF picks lately have left me not wanting to run a hangout every month for us. This doesn't mean I want to leave VF Down Under, but that I'd like to hand over the responsibility of the monthly Hangouts.
If we have someone interested in taking over I'm willing to do this anyway that works for them. If they're happy to just take over I'll pass on all responsibility and they can run things as they wish. If they need help and want to know what I do, I'm willing to walk them through as much or as little as they like.
If you're interested but want to ask some questions privately, then feel free to message me. Otherwise please express your interest here.

As far as I'm aware there aren't any current local meet-ups in Australia, we're all rather spread out across the country.
To join us you'll need a Google+ account. Once you've got that set up, go to your profile page there. Copy and Paste the web address for that here and I can add you to the group with that.

I do have Skype. Would that be sufficient or do I definitely require a Google account?
We use Google Hangouts the same way the Ladies do for the official Hangout, so yes an account will be necessary. Sorry.Skype is how I help out those who need assistance their first time. We also use it for chat for those who want to watch but not join in.

Hi Giovanna,We don't host regular hangouts anymore, only if a few members are interested in reading the monthly picks. But we have sort of created an offshoot group that picks our own books to read (sci fi/fantasy) + sometimes Vaginal Fantasy and Sword and Laser hangouts. Hi, cos this discussion has just surfaced I've sent a request to join the LDUH group on Goodreads. I read a lot so I'm always looking for new books & authors. It gets a bit frustrating when the ebooks of monthly picks are geoblocked to aussie readers - almost all my reading is via kindle & kobo these days. Does being quiet for so long make this a ghost thread?
