That's the default setting for the listings and, unfortunately, can not be changed manually. Only time and more shelvings can replace it.

We don't replace covers once they have been used on a published work. We create an alternate cover edition for them.
Either myself or another Librarian can do that for you. :)

Authors can now set which edition/bookcover shows as default/primary edition (what shows in simple searches and in their author pages).Goodreads policy still does not allow any previously published covers to be deleted (really plays havoc with members who deliberately added particular cover to their shelves); however, authors can take the alternate cover editions and set them to be the primary.

By the way, GR does not provide separate middle initials when signing up; however, it assigned Inge H. as my first name--and now doesn't like it; I get admonished to fix it...what to do?

I think on the name issue, upper right of goodreads menu if you click to edit your profile you can put whatever you like as your first name. Give me a minute and I'll get you the link to claim your author profile (you'll then have limited librarian status for your own books, can fill out a more complete author profile, etc.)

There are three distinct types of IDs -- ISBNs for regular ebooks, ASINs for Kindle ebooks, and BNIDs for Nook ebooks -- so we need to create three new editions for each book.

We can't use Amazon as a source but if you provide links to the publisher or a non bookseller site, or upload them to your profile and provide links to there, then we can add covers for your books.
