Our second group anthology-Submissions to Ignite by end of September, please.
Plenty of time - it's not due out (probably) till October.Simon, I think if everyone did a book of The Best Bits of their life it wouldn't come to more than 2 months!
I'm starting now because I foollishly forgot to specify a font, font size, format, etc. so I'm changing them as I go. What larks!
Simon (Highwayman) wrote: "Actually it only really covers two months but most of the rest has been quite dull (except for the bit with the Turkish ambassador..... Maybe I will have a sequel)"What about the slinky Russian spy? You HAVE to include that!!!
Simon (Highwayman) wrote: "Hmmm.... The bit where I...... No, perhaps not."
Oh go on. You know you want to.
Ignite wrote: "I've started to put it together! I'd forgotten how good some of these stories are."Woot Woot!

If you tell us now, I could save you some work.
Does it have to be a new story, ignite, written for the anthology or can it be one that might be published elsewhere? Just trying to plan my writing as I have a charity anthology I am sending a story to as well. ;)
It's better if it hasn't been published elsewhere Jonathan, but there's no problem if you want to re-publish later. The copyright remains with the author. If they are all new though, it's something worth buying if you see what I mean?
Ignite wrote: "I've started to put it together! I'd forgotten how good some of these stories are."Does that mean I can give you something that's already in the public domain? I did a Christmas story for a blog last year, but it doesn't appear anywhere else.
Cheers

That would be fine MT. I'm happy with that. I'm not keen on an excerpt, for instance, but yours isn't that.Edit to say that you probably need to give me the name of the blog so I can credit it as having published the story first.
Just a quick update - it's going well. We have a good variety of material in a mix of styles an genres. I can still take some more - and I know some people will have something for me later, but if you are thinking of sending something (or something else) then send me a pm and I'll give you my email address.Ta.
I am, too. It's brilliant to be involved in such a work thing. And all power fo Ignite for making it happen. I cld not do that.
Good to hear this is going well. I'm still clinging onto the idea of being able to submit something before the deadline!
Looking at the list of people who have contributed or who are going to, it strikes me it will be a fascinating read. Something for everyoneI say we give Ignite one of Gingerlily's 'special' jellybabies!
Ignite wrote: "Great. I like something to suck.(What have I said?)"
I think you might just have out Gingerlily-ed Gingerlily!
Gingerlily (or Cyberlily..) wrote: "Hey! We can't have that happening. I would have to start Igniting myself..."well we always said you were hot stuff :-))

you had to go and spoil it, didn't you!

in essence, yes :-)
Ignite is far too polite to point out that she DOESN'T HAVE ENOUGH RECIPES!!!!!!!Now if you want to avoid me getting all exclamation mark on your asses you'll get those recipes into her tout de suite.
To make Rum ButterTake half a pound of Butter
Mix in perhaps 3/4 lb of sugar (brown sugar, dark as you like.)
Stir in rum to taste.(Dark rum, not the white stuff)
Spread on toast
eat
Jim, you do realise what you have done, dont you? I will be eating that non-stop until I die of it. . .
Just found this great stuffing recipe she could use...Turkey Dressing Supreme
Ingredients:
⼠5 C. Bread Crumbs
⼠1 C. Chopped Onion
⼠112 C. Popcorn (Unpopped)
⼠1/4 C. Parsley
⼠3 C. Giblet broth
⼠1-1/2 teaspoon Sage
Mixing Instructions:
1. Chop giblets fine. Mix all ingredients in broth.
2. Stuff turkey loosely. Bake slowly at 350⼠approximate
3. 5 hours or until popcorn blows the turkey's ass off.
Gingerlily (or Cyberlily..) wrote: "Jim, you do realise what you have done, dont you? I will be eating that non-stop until I die of it. . ."well it's about the only thing I can cook that I do really well :-)
Because I always get the amount of rum absolutely perfect
for me :-)
not wishing to sound negative here but it is supposed to be a spread you apply with a knife, not something you pour on like a Vinaigrette
Simon (Highwayman) wrote: "I'm still trying to get my head around exploding turkeys"Don't. Then your head would explode too.
Jim wrote: "not wishing to sound negative here but it is supposed to be a spread you apply with a knife, not something you pour on like a Vinaigrette"Oh, I was just drinking it. I forgot the toast bit. . .
I shall be coming to Oxfordyshireland to sort that young man out. Darren, I do not need recipes - or multiple punctuation.
The only way I would get into the book would be copying someone else's recipe - no one would believe it was my own concoction unless it was carbonised.Oh well ;)
Patti (Free Bird) wrote: "Sigh. And after I put all that time and effort into googling the stuffing recipe."
Just tell them to get stuffed.

Carbon's good. They give doggies those charcoal biscuits, don't they?
Bit of hot news - there's to be a stand-alone Agent Ward story! If you've read some of Darren Humphries' Man from U.N.D.E.A.D. stories The Man From U.N.D.E.A.D. - The Curious Case Of The Kidnapped Chemist for example - you'll know why I'm excited about that. If you haven't - you'll find out if you buy his books OR the Group Anthology!
There is something coming from me, I promise, but it has to wait until September. I think judging by the state he's in right now (not well) you may end up getting my poem, "I talk to the cat". Please be advised my poetry is not quality but I'm told it's funny.Cheers
MTM
Nice one Darren. I'm thinking of submitting something similar, a stand-alone Relationship Assassin story. That probably won't be as exciting to the group but frankly if I can get anything done before deadline, it'll be an achievement! :-)
