Jonathan Hill | 1599 comments My first line is 'Why won't you tell me your name?'
The story is 'The Box in the Wardrobe'.

Can I post about the anthology on my blog yet? (I'll only post the link when the site is fully ready though)

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8049 comments It's late, it's time to go to sleep. Here's my first line:

Gerry lay in bed trying not to fall asleep. Whatever happened it was imperative she stayed awake or The Plan would fail.

Throwing the reader into the centre of the action is not my forte.

Cheers

MTM

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments What order did we decide for the contributions? I ask this in the context of making the Kindle sample text the best it can be (it will display several of the contributions I believe, about 7700 words?). What other front matter will be included?

message 1154: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Not sure what you mean Darren? The other Darren has it now and is sorting that out. Were you thinking of putting a sample on a blog or something? In that case it's best to wait till it's out.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Oh I think he means downloading a sample, Ignite. Or the look inside feature.

How are you?

message 1158: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Ah right. Sample should be ok. First few stories aren't over-long and there's just enough blurb. Don't you think? You've seen it.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments I think it'll be fine.

Cannot see me ever bothering with the film so probably won't. The white on black doesn't help.
Anyway I'm working on my new blog. Click on the link, enter your credit card details and a few details and a couple of hours later an appropriate person will arrive round to read it to you in person.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Can I have an inappropriate person please?

message 1190: by Jenny (new)

Just as long as you don't send Will as he would be well oiled!

message 1193: by Jenny (new)

Jenny | 210 comments Btw, my first lines...

The boy's skin was sour and taut and his movements graceful.

He was arrogant, of that there could be no doubt.
