I thought you didn't like the Marx Bros? ;-)

message 1053: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments I don't like their films. I remember a one-off or two.
What a memory you have!

Not really, but I can spot a Marx Bros. quote from a long way away! Particularly as that's from one of my favourite bits of cross-talk.

I didn't want to overload mine with info. It's an ad for the book, and the book is itself an advert for the group.

You are so creative and talented. :)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments I need to write a boob book...

message 1060: by Rosen (new)

Rosen Trevithick (rosentrevithick) | 2272 comments Pompomberry House is my tummy-tuck book.

message 1062: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Awesome - AND it doesn't obscure her good bits!

message 1063: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments I want liposuction. (That IS where somebody sucks you with their lips, isn't it?)

Oh, I feel a bit funny!

message 1064: by M.T. (new)

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8049 comments Actually, mine's about santa... I don't think I could afford any art work for a freebie.

Cheers

Rosen Trevithick (rosentrevithick) | 2272 comments No no no, you don't pay for artwork. That takes the fun out of it. You need to find yourself a red suit, a camera with auto timer and a lot of patience. ;-)

Ignite, do you have a list of memorable quotes from the book?

message 1066: by M.T. (new)

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8049 comments Mwa ha ha hahrgh! Have you seen what I look like?

message 1067: by Rosen (new)

Rosen Trevithick (rosentrevithick) | 2272 comments Surely there's no physical atrocity that can't be made charming with a Santa suit.

I did have, but I've forgotten them! Ha!

My very favourite is

"The Troll was well over seven feet tall, and smelled of body odour and Germolene."

I can soon come out with a selection.

message 1069: by M.T. (new)

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8049 comments Ignite, That is one hell of a quote. Sounds like this might be quite amusing anthology.

Rosen... you know what they say, you can't polish a turd! ;-)

Cheers

Rosen Trevithick (rosentrevithick) | 2272 comments There will be trolls? Oh my! That's a great quote!
Maybe we could start firing quotes all over social networks? I'm going to tweet that one right away.

message 1071: by Andrew (new)

Andrew Lawston (andrewlawston) | 1774 comments Crikey - people are paying for cosmetic surgery through book profits? I think I could just about afford a discounted workout DVD and a comedy plastic bosom from mine!

Tweeting of soundbite quotes sounds like a good plan to me. I only have 178 followers or something, but there's some big names among them.

I may or may not have been lying.

message 1073: by Andrew (new)

Andrew Lawston (andrewlawston) | 1774 comments Fair enough, but I may or may not get drunk this evening, borrow something strappy from my girlfriend, and produce a dragged-up parody :)

message 1074: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments She DOES write fiction Andrew! ;)

message 1075: by Andrew (new)

Andrew Lawston (andrewlawston) | 1774 comments I know, but I so wanted to get that workout DVD gag in there ;)

Rosen Trevithick (rosentrevithick) | 2272 comments It's not a lie if it's funny.

message 1078: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments That's like, it's got no calories if you nicked it from someone else's plate!

message 1079: by Rosen (new)

Rosen Trevithick (rosentrevithick) | 2272 comments Yes, just like that.

Tim | 8539 comments Rosen wrote: "It's not a lie if it's funny."

It's not food if it's broken...

message 1081: by Rosen (new)

Rosen Trevithick (rosentrevithick) | 2272 comments It's not a cookie if the dough is raw.

message 1082: by Andrew (new)

Andrew Lawston (andrewlawston) | 1774 comments It's not alcoholism if you're drinking real ale, vintage wine, and single malt whisky.

message 1083: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments If you eat standing up the calories drain out.

message 1084: by Andrew (new)

Andrew Lawston (andrewlawston) | 1774 comments If you eat it twice as fast, then it's half as bad for you.

message 1085: by Tim (new)

Tim | 8539 comments If you drink red wine with it, it's only half the calories.

message 1086: by Rosen (new)

Rosen Trevithick (rosentrevithick) | 2272 comments Wine only turns to alcohol if you let it sit.

message 1087: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments We ARE a lying bunch of toads, aren't we? ;)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Now see, that was another one!

message 1090: by Darren (new)

Darren Humphries (darrenhf) | 6903 comments I've got a lying bunch of toads out here all complaining about being maligned.

message 1091: by Kath (new)

message 1092: by Tim (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments You're all puddled.

message 1095: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments I could sort some more quotes out later - or alternatively you could givre your favourite quote from your own story?

message 1096: by Andrew (new)

Andrew Lawston (andrewlawston) | 1774 comments I think my first line is probably the most quotable, I wanted a strong hook.

message 1097: by Cornelius (new)

Cornelius Harker | 830 comments Ignite wrote: "I could sort some more quotes out later - or alternatively you could givre your favourite quote from your own story?"

I'll go with: "and".

message 1098: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments It certainly was a good first line Andrew.

Cornelius, you do a very good 'if' too. I've quoted it many times.

message 1099: by Rosen (new)

Rosen Trevithick (rosentrevithick) | 2272 comments What was Andrew's first line?

message 1100: by Cornelius (new)

Cornelius Harker | 830 comments Well now I'm just torn between the two of them.
