Matthew McFarland (matthewwmcfarland) | 46 comments Is it too late to submit something for this?

message 1004: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments It's in the final proofing stage Matthew. We said end of September - but there'll be another next year I'm sure!

message 1005: by Matthew (new)

Matthew McFarland (matthewwmcfarland) | 46 comments Sorry, I've only just joined in!

message 1006: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments You can be first to submit for next year!

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments I missed it last time, Matthew - but there's always next year...unless of course the economy and our unsound debt-based money system totally collapses ;)

message 1008: by Matthew (new)

Matthew McFarland (matthewwmcfarland) | 46 comments Funny, I saw four guys on horseback go past my window about half an hour ago...

message 1009: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments That'd be Kindle, One-click, Debt and Lack-of-housework!

Now why does this premise sound so familiar.....

;-P

message 1011: by Andrew (new)

Andrew Lawston (andrewlawston) | 1774 comments Can't believe it's nearly here - really can't wait to read this one!

message 1012: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments There's some amazing stuff in it Andrew. (Not least yours!)
Hope to send it of to Darren tomorrow. (I started that with 'have it off' but I know how you lot think!)

message 1013: by Simon (Highwayman) (new)

Simon (Highwayman) (highwayman) | 4276 comments Do you have a release date Ignite?

message 1014: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Hoping to get it to Darren tonight or tomorrow - then it depends on how long it take him. Being as I don't know exactly what he does with it (or I'd do it myself!) I can't say how long that will be. Shouldn't be very long though.

message 1015: by A.L. (new)

A.L. Butcher (alb2012) | 1608 comments Yay.

message 1016: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Is Patti there? Proofreading notes? Pretty please.

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments Did we decide on a cover? :)

(images of my good self and my book covers are available *grins* )

message 1018: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Sorry Ignite. Major (okay not in the grand scheme of things but in my own little world they are) problems here. Internet died last night, woke to no water this morning, worked my tail off with only 20 minutes non-contact time all day, ( I know you know what THAT means!) no electricity at school from 11-4 and was 28C ( I know you also know what THAT means ie very cranky and hot students),got home, had to go to Internet place to get that sorted, got home again, walked in the door, electricity here died. Still no water. Has been a major water main fail just done my street. Said on the radio it'd be fixed by 4pm. Is now after 7 and still no water.

Starving. Must eat. And try to find my sense of humour...

message 1019: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments D'Oh! Poor Patti. well, I've been through it all twice. Hope it's ok now.

The cover is an oak tree picture by our Emma.

message 1020: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Book, blurb and cover have gone to Darren now.
He'll be the one in the corner scratching his head for the next few days!

message 1021: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments I'm already getting a little flurry of queries from my right hand man. He's finding out how random I am!

message 1022: by Rosen (last edited Oct 06, 2012 01:24PM) (new)

Rosen Trevithick (rosentrevithick) | 2272 comments I've finished my publicity shot.
That's a real Grumpies™ (name changed) on my head.

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments *stares at boobs*

message 1024: by Rosen (new)

Rosen Trevithick (rosentrevithick) | 2272 comments Ah, but you have to scroll past all the adverts to get to the boobs - clever, huh?

message 1025: by M.T. (new)

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8049 comments Ouch, I feel for you peeling that off! ;-)

message 1026: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments Ha very clever.

All joking aside, you are very beautiful Rosen!

message 1027: by Rosen (new)

Rosen Trevithick (rosentrevithick) | 2272 comments M.T. wrote: "Ouch, I feel for you peeling that off! ;-)"

What happens when a Grumpie™ is pealed off? That's the sort of question that my submission answers.

Louise-Lesley (Elle) wrote: "All joking aside, you are very beautiful Rosen!"

Thank you. Although, I have to admit that I do have a photographer with my best interests at heart! ;-)

message 1028: by David (new)

David Wailing | 834 comments We don't all have to pose in a little black number for this book, do we? Not sure I could pull it off as well as Rosen!

message 1029: by Rosen (new)

Rosen Trevithick (rosentrevithick) | 2272 comments Ooh! I could post every author a Grumpie™ and we could do a series!

message 1030: by Kath (new)

Kath | 1233 comments my face looks grumpy enough without needing extra help ;)

message 1031: by Rosen (new)

Rosen Trevithick (rosentrevithick) | 2272 comments Kath wrote: "my face looks grumpy enough without needing extra help ;)"

That's what the patches are for...

message 1032: by M.T. (new)

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8049 comments I thought a grumpie was a pooh... Phnark. Is it some kind of face lift thing then?

message 1033: by Rosen (new)

Rosen Trevithick (rosentrevithick) | 2272 comments M.T. wrote: "I thought a grumpie was a pooh... Phnark. Is it some kind of face lift thing then?"

You'll have to read the book to find out. ;-)

message 1034: by M.T. (new)

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8049 comments Excellent, you made it up! I will look forward to reading... ;-)

message 1035: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments *smirks*

I've already read Rosen's story.

message 1036: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments I thought the sticker looked rather fetching, Rosen. Makes you look a bit like a Star Trek Alien. Better than a partially melted Mars Bar anyway. Do you speak Klingon?

message 1037: by Tim (new)

Tim | 8539 comments Actually, very minor tweak to the hair style, and Rosen could be the FMC in my submission. Replace the slinky black dress with a slinky black uniform, add some personal artillery...

;)

message 1038: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Yes, I do see what you mean Tim. Feisty lady your FMC. I liked her!

message 1039: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments I believe her personal artillery is just out of the shot.

message 1040: by Rosen (last edited Oct 07, 2012 04:37AM) (new)

Rosen Trevithick (rosentrevithick) | 2272 comments Patti (Migrating Coconut) wrote: "I believe her personal artillery is just out of the shot."

;-)

When are we going to see other people's publicity shots?

message 1041: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments They are shy! You don't get publicity by being shy.

message 1042: by David (new)

David Wailing | 834 comments I can provide a cover for my story, but not a sultry publicity shot!

message 1043: by Tim (new)

Tim | 8539 comments Rosen wrote: "Patti (Migrating Coconut) wrote: "I believe her personal artillery is just out of the shot."

Do you have access to black police-style combats, utility belt & kick-arse gun? Oh, and a wimpy stick-insect Private Pike lookalike to stand in your shadow. I'm sure we could work something out...

message 1044: by Rosen (new)

Rosen Trevithick (rosentrevithick) | 2272 comments Ooh ooh ooh! We could all do each other's - like a secret Santa. You pick a random author out of a hat and you have to made their promo pic!

message 1045: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments You'd have to know what the story was about though. So you couldn't do it till you'd read the book?

message 1046: by Tim (new)

Tim | 8539 comments I've fired off a spec to an illustrator chap I know. Be interesting to see what he comes up with, although it'd cost money.

message 1047: by Kath (last edited Oct 07, 2012 07:50AM) (new)

Kath | 1233 comments would be nice if these promo things mentioned the group as it is a group book...

message 1048: by Simon (Highwayman) (new)

Simon (Highwayman) (highwayman) | 4276 comments Kath wrote: "would be nice if these promo things mentioned the group as it is a group book..."

Absolutely Kath. However I have already seen a couple of blog entries for the book so I have high hopes that everyone is going to pull together to make this number one in the amazon charts.

I do still believe in Father Christmas and the perfect woman :-)

message 1049: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Yes, Simon. You have spent time with me.

message 1050: by Kath (last edited Oct 07, 2012 08:23AM) (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments So Patti, you are the Sanity Clause?
