Simon (Highwayman) (highwayman) | 4276 comments Patti and I discussed charity things a while ago and she rightly pointed out that it would be a mine field. My yacht fund on the other hand seemed fairly uncontentious

Rosen Trevithick (rosentrevithick) | 2272 comments Is it definitely unacceptable to review a book that you've contributed to. Even if it was a small contribution and you state your vested interest at the start of your review then go on to comment on the other contributions?

message 904: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments I'd definitely not mind if an author was open about having 1 story in it but reviewed the book as a whole - aka other stories they haven't yet read.

although in the review, i'd definitely want it to be obvious you actually read the book and not just praising it randomly. :P

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments I like random praise. :)

message 906: by Rosen (new)

Rosen Trevithick (rosentrevithick) | 2272 comments I can make you a Random Praise Generator if you like. Every time you refresh the page it creates a new positive review.

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments Excellent, RPG!

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments That sounds very Douglas Adams!

message 909: by A.L. (new)

A.L. Butcher (alb2012) | 1608 comments Lol.

message 910: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments I didn't review the last group book because I made a contribution.
I've not contributed to this one.
I shall gleefully pick it apart and review each story on it's individual merits.

Evil grin.

message 911: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments It's probably ok to admit a connection and to say your review is regarding all the rest. After all, you'd be one of 40 in there.
Also, it will say on your review that you've bought it - Amazon Verified Purchase.

I could really use one of those right now!

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments "You're one in a million!"

message 915: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments OK, DM, someone's got to say it - "You're won in a raffle!"

message 916: by Tim (new)

Tim | 8539 comments My parents tried to give me away in a raffle. Several times.

Couldn't even give away the tickets though...

message 917: by Pat () (new)

Pat () | -245 comments My Grandmother really did try to give me away, thought she was back in victorian times and I could be sent off as a parlour maid. Hateful woman.

message 918: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Oh Pat, if they're giving you away, we'll have you!

message 919: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Just got a good, long, meaty story from David Wailing. Book now stands at 77,700 words!
You'd get a lot of words per penny at 77p!

message 920: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Good, I'm glad you've heard from! Not like him to miss a party. I was getting worried about him.

message 921: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments I can see we're going to have to drag out that chocolate fountain when the book's published then?

Simon (Highwayman) (highwayman) | 4276 comments Get someone to write a 77 word poem.

Then it will be 77,777 words for 77p

message 923: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments I could do a 77 word poem. It might stop in the middle, mind.

message 924: by Tim (new)

Tim | 8539 comments A Thousand words a pee! Yay!!!

message 925: by [deleted user] (new)

Just stumbled across a plug for the book already, whilst I was updated my bookshelves.

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments Me too, I've never been part of an andrology before...

message 933: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Oh, yes please (and no, you didn't but I've credited you with it on the first page!)

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments is you a mockin' me grasp o' words?

Blame Ignite - she do teach me my letters :)

message 938: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments I've got about halfway through so far, Ignite. Hopefully a good chunk this evening.

I'm happy to send through what I've got any time. Just shout.

Maybe this evening then, when you've got as far as you'll get tonight? And thanks chuck!

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments Patti, you've written reviews for half the stories already? Or you've read half of them already?

Your brain must be very confused with that mixed bag ;)

lol @ ignite

message 943: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Patti is a voluntary second proof reader for the book. She's read half!

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments Ah, might want to pay special attention to mine - it was sort of rushed ;)

Thanks, Patti!

message 945: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments I've read it through. It reads very well, and as to be expected with you - a totally different genre!

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments thanks, Ignite.

Whatever genre next! ;)

message 947: by Kath (last edited Oct 02, 2012 03:05AM) (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments You haven't tried nursery rhyme?

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments Jack and Jill went up the hill
to fetch a pale of water;
Jack came down and broke his crown,
and Jill went on a rampage of slaughter...

I call it Nursery Horror

message 949: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Scansion in the last line is a bit iffy.
3* for trying!

(PS - Nurseries ARE places of horror. Don't tell Amazon Author Jenny Shaw I said that!)

D.M. Andrews (author) Andrews (dmandrews) | 1551 comments hehe - it actually flows quite well if you read it a certain way ;)
