Alterjess | 319 comments I had planned to start Tigana after finishing Fall of Hyperion, but the copy I put on hold at the library wasn't available this weekend, so I pulled out my old copy of Endymion instead.

Anyone else on book 3? I hadn't read this in YEARS and had forgotten just how quickly it gets going compared to Hyperion. It's a shame that people who were disappointed in Hyperion probably won't read this one, because the pacing issues are gone completely, there are only two character POVs, and the story is more or less linear. (Of course there is SOME mucking about in space-time, but things more or less happen in order to the POV characters.)

Napoez3 | 158 comments I'm interested in it, but I don't know if I'll read it any time soon. I want to read Tigana, and I'm half way in another book....

Tamahome | 7216 comments I have read it.

David Sven (gorro) | 1582 comments I really enjoyed the whole series. I had expected Endymion to just kick off a different story in the same Universe - but I was pleasantly surprised that in so many ways its a continuation of the same story and that there are discoveries to be made about questions raised in the first book.

Valentin Buck (apexys) | 13 comments It certainly adds to the book. There are also some short stories that really add to it.

terpkristin | 4407 comments I'm not sure what I'll do. I'm about 2/3 through The Fall of Hyperion after starting on Saturday. That's quick for me (though admittedly work has been a bit more calm this week so far).

I'm not sure if I'll jump right to Endymion or if I'll try to read some of the other stuff in my backlog.

message 7: by Rik (new) - rated it 5 stars

Rik | 777 comments I'm reading Endymion for the 4th time or so now but the first time in the last five years. I've always found it to be the weakest of the four books simply because its so straightforward relative to the other three. That though might mean some would like it better.

John (johntai) | 35 comments I just finished Fall which I loved, so I definitely want to finish the series. But first I'll read Tigana, so that I'm done with the June pick. Then I'll come back and finish the H Cantos, and back to this thread.

meaghs | 33 comments I also really enjoyed Fall of Hyperion, Endymion has definitely been added to my "to-read" list. :)

Jonathan Batten | 9 comments The Hyperion Cantos is wonderful. I can understand the initial thought that its cluttered or convoluted but Hyperion is just developing the characters to keep off the rest of the series. oh and it really jumps up in The Fall. I have read this series twice and fell in love. actually even considered Aenea as what I'd name my daughter. These books brought me a lot of joy and a ton tears too. Please finish the whole series.

terpkristin | 4407 comments As I mentioned in a few other threads, I finished The Fall of Hyperion on Thursday or so. I've been waffling about starting Endymion, but I think I've decided to go for it. I've heard that it's a bit of a slog. Is that true?

message 12: by Tamahome (new) - added it

Tamahome | 7216 comments I found it very accessible.

Kevin Xu (kxu65) | 1081 comments No, I found Endymion to the best out of the four. Its so quick pace. When I picked it up, I finished it within a day.

terpkristin | 4407 comments Sweet. Once I get back home from work, I guess I know what I'm doing!
