I have two:
MERCY THOMPSON: she's strong, smart and has a sassy mouth. She knows she's not perfect, she knows when she's doing something wrong and is willing to face the consequences. She doesn't shirk responsibility is more than willing to own up to her screw ups. She's not a 'super woman who can leap tall buildings' and she knows her shortcomings and will (eventually) accept the help of others.
HARRY DRESDEN: C'mon! He's a wizard in Chicago! He has a smart ass attitude, knows when he's in over his head and seeks assistance, is able to adapt and compensate and he's got the softest heart imaginable. I LOVE him! :-)

Mine in Jenks from The Hollows series. He's a supporting character but that's actually one of the things that I love most about him. As a pixie he's also extremely vulnerable (you can just step on him, if you can catch him) but he has a chihuahua complex (big attitude, tiny body). He knows that as an inch tall creature in a big ol' world he's got some insecurities and weaknesses but he also knows what his strengths are and he's almost fearless to a fault as a result. He reminds me a little bit of my cat Kody. Kody will walk write up to a giant dog, whap it on the nose, and then look at it like 'oh yes I did! what biotch?!'. Sure ... one of these days he'll probably whap the wrong dog and get himself eaten and Jenks will someday smart-off to the wrong vampire and find himself on the business end of a flyswatter - but I can't help but admire them both for their - albeit ignorant - courage and self-esteem.
This is such a difficult question, but I'll go with the first character who came to mind:Crowley from Good Omens. An Apocalypse-averting demon who drives a Bentley, keeps (and threatens) plants, listens to Queen and gets drunk with an angel. I can find no wrong here. :P
Ivy is fast becoming a new favourite of mine. She is like a dark fantasy, aiming to right the wrongs of the world. I love watching her evolve, she was weak, lost and ruled by the idea of love but once reborn she becomes, sisnter, deadly and no longer weak. She is my idea of what would happen if you mixed Anita blake and Dexter into one. I am thinking as the story grows she will become my fave overall :D
I agree with Muse - Harry Dresden is my favorite character. He's flawed and he knows it, and he generally goes roaring into the inferno when he's out to save someone. My hero :-)
