Agreed! I am the same with that and when I read her book I just laughed at that part because i'm the same way.

Haha I feel the same Lynn..I get all excited when I get to put down what I did for exercise and then I feel so bad when I see what I eat! lol

Hey Lori - I actually did a search on google after watching Losing It with Jillian Michaels. Here is a link to the site that got the information from: http://running.about.com/od/racetrain...
It was within this program that I found the link to the running for beginners. I think I clicked on a link called "step-by-step plan for building a running base." I apologize, I looked at this again and each plan that I am doing is 8 weeks, for a total of 16 weeks. I hope that helps!!

I know what you mean about how difficult it is to get up early when you don't have somewhere to be. I was going to get up early today and go running (before it got too hot out) but by the time I got up and ate breakfast it was already 10am and 80° out (I move slow in the morning!).

You know? I had plans. I was there in the gym, daily. I love to workout. (Well, I hate cardio. I love weightlifting.)
But, now, this summer, I am utterly lazy in the workout department. I take full care of my foodie lifestyle but the workout part? Meh.
Getting out a bed is a big enough workout, you know? Sun-bathing takes a lot of effort!
But, reading some of the stuff here makes me want to put on my Nike's and go for a walk/job/jump-roping adventure.

Ooh, I could really use that - I'll send you a friend request! Thanks!

Do any of you ride bikes? A friend of mine is doing a 100 mile bike ride with a crazy course for Ride To Empower. It is a fundraiser for breast cancer research. The course for those that are familiar with Zion National Park, starts and ends in Springdale. She is crazy, but I admire her for it. Maybe I should start riding.
I seriously need to get into shape! Since I'm only working part time I end up sitting around the house and eating! I haven't really gained any weight but I can tell that all the muscle is turning into fat! And besides, I'll be getting engaged at some point this year so I want to be getting myself in a good shape to look good in a wedding dress so it isn't last minute!

Park the furthest away from buildings before you go in, take stairs instead of elevators, and walk to where you are going if it is close enough instead of driving. Good luck. That sounds like a great challenge.

However, in general, I refuse to take elevators (when possible), and park far away from buildings when I drive places.
Janet -- I agree, that's a great challenge!

Step 1 sounds like a great place to start. I quit drinking anything carbonated and I did lose a little. It is the one and only New Year Resolution I have made and Yay! for me, I kept it. Also, studies show carbonation is a leading cause to celulite, so you get the added bonus of smoother skin too.
Good Luck!
Good Luck!

I really need to start eating healthier. It's so much easier (for me at least) to eat healthy during the summer when fruits and vegetables are fresh and cheaper!

Good luck Lauren!

I've noticed that the days I exercise I usually end up eating healthier.
i do alot of exercise through pom, cheer, ballet and track. and i do sparring occasionally, which really helps.
i really wish i had a healthy eating lifestyle though. i eat really processed foods and hardly get my food groups in through actual foods. i need to stop taking supplements and actually eat good food, but its soooo hard.

I actually had to deal with this problem last year. It's really hard for the first several weeks, but after that it becomes much easier. And I found that it really helped with my stamina when I exercised.
yeah, it does. the first couple weeks were the hardest for me, and i felt like crap after practices. but then your body gets used to it and stuff.

My past quarters, going to the gym was routine. That is where I would read for class, while going on the treadmill, or listen to random podcast. No music, because then I would start to concentrate on the music.
Like, "wait, I don't want to listen to this song.. or this.. or this.. Hey, why not stop working out and make a playlist?"
But now, the gym hours are off. I would have to stay after school an extra few hours to workout. It's not too bad, I could do homework. But, I don't have that much homework usually. I could randomly socialize but small talk annoys me. Bleh.
So, I am moving my gym to my room in the upcoming weeks. I got my yoga mall, big ball, and some other things. Lets see how this goes! Teehee.
/I am moreso attempting to gain weight then lose. Muscle, more then just weight in general.
You're welcome. Should I send some chocolate to celebrate? :) Just kidding.
Did anyone watch The Biggest Loser last night? They were sent home for 2 weeks and it was the one kid's 21 birthday. His "friends" take him bowling and they are all eating pizza, cheese fries, and drinking beer then they come out with a huge chocolate cheesecake. HELLO! What kind of friends would do that?
