Tapply died in July, after a 2 year battle with leukemia at the age of 69. He was too young.I also remember Philip Craig as a local author.Unfortunately, he died this year too.
I have enjoyed all of Susan Wittig Albert's China Bayles books. As a resident of Texas who is also a gardener, I enjoy the herb lore that is a part of the books almost as much as the mysteries themselves.

I remember that Bitch Creek was my first Tapply, and I was riveted to my chair until the book was finished. I really liked the Stoney Calhoun books.
Like Dorothy, I enjoy Susan Wittig Albert's mysteries. My sister, who is a fan of herbs and herbal medicine, turned me on to the series.

from WA....one of my favorites is/was Irene Allen and her Quaker Mystery series. I read all four and haven't heard from her since. I was told she was from Eastern WA when she was writing them.
