I would suggest Patrick Ness' Chaos Walking trilogy, except I really didn't like The Knife of Never Letting Go. I know some people enjoyed it though.
Runemarks and Runelight byJoanne Harris are a pair of fantastic books featuring the Norse gods (with a special focus of Loki, god of mischief and chaos). Their big theme is the balance between order and chaos on the cosmic scale... And Chaos often gets the upper hand ;)
