I know crazy people! At least we can catch up cause they can't finish until they read a 2013 book!

message 59: by Barbara (new)

Barbara | 4434 comments Mod
You're just jealous.

By the time it is 2013 I will only have one book to go and of course the bonus book. How many do you think you will still have to go by then? :P

oh and BTW I finished Rising Storm for task 1

Total finished tasks: 8 *evil grin*

message 60: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Smith Finished no.20: 2/30

Just one question Barbara - how much consideration have you given the term advanced reading copy?
*evil grin*

message 61: by Barbara (last edited Jun 25, 2012 02:11PM) (new)

Barbara | 4434 comments Mod
Oooooh, didn't think of that. Never read an advanced reading copy before, wouldn't know how to get my hands on one. But if you are willing to help me, I am willing to bribe you :D Please, yes??????

message 62: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Smith Lol, well if the bribe is good enough, and I happen to have an arc in print, I might just send it to you. After I read it :D

Sadly, almost all my arc's are eBooks, most are protected by DRM (which means you can't read it on anything but my Kindle) and even if they're not, I play by the rules and do not give them to other people, except for review purposes.

Barbara | 4434 comments Mod
Bribes are negotiable, so naming a price is the first step :)

Spoilsport! No fun in playing by the rules :(

If all I have to do is write a review, all I need is an arc and a place to post my review and then a review is easily written :) And a challenge even more easily won :D

message 64: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Smith No worries, I'm sure an opportunity will open up as soon as I'm finished with this challenge :)

message 65: by Barbara (new)

Barbara | 4434 comments Mod
Ok, if that is how the game is played, I will get my own arc. I am sure I am smart enough to figure out how to get my hands on one! And I won't be sharing either!
No one can beat me! *evil grin*

message 66: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Smith Lol, psycho :)

It is in my genes, what can I say, I am genetically challenged!

Lauren (Sugar & Snark) | 1262 comments Mod
Yeah I have my eye set on an arc too. Even though I am the world worst blogger (as in I never bother to actually blog) my love for obscure biographies is sure to get me an arc of some kind!

message 69: by Claudia (new)

Claudia (claudiavstoomanybooks) | 1779 comments So far the closest to a 2013 arc I came is a Nov 2012 release. :( So close but not quite!

Lauren (Sugar & Snark) | 1262 comments Mod
I saw a December one the other day but that's still not good enough.
The first book with a 2013 publishing dating that offers an ARC is probably going to be some random and very dull book and the publisher is going to wonder why it is getting a huge influx of requests from South Africa!

message 71: by Lu (new)

Lu | 12672 comments Mod
I requested one with a date of Jan 2013 but they only start giving them out in November :(

Well I think it is up to you what you want to do, because in the first post Lu gives you the option to update in your list or update in messages. I just thought I mentioned it because your name wasn't in the points scoreboard and you are participating :)

What did you think? I read it a while ago and loved it. It just stays with you. I read quite a bit of WW2 stuff.
