Does anyone think that Thirteen Reasons Why counts as 9. Read a book about insanity/psychopathology
Eg. Main character has a psychological disorder, has been put in a mental institution, or has to care for someone with psychological problems. Or a book about someone who is sane but is assumed to be crazy.

I don't know - it depends how Hannah is portrayed on the tapes. If she's clinically depressed and the book explores what it means to be a depressed teenager, then I'd say yes. If she killed herself for other reasons, then I'd say no.
I don't recall the exact circumstances now, but I think Hannah was depressed and that, coupled with other events, lead to her suicide. But I saw Clay as being the main character though. :|I'm going to read this one for no.9
Willow cuts, but it's motivated more by grief and guilt than a classifiable disorder.Shutter Island , definitely. The others look good too. :)
Definitely Shutter Island, and it's a great book too!Entangled - Not sure. Is she in a mental institution?
Life is but Dream - sounds fine :)
A Blue So Dark - sounds good too
Has anybody read Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar ChildrenI see it is on a list in listopia for books set at sea, but I have my doubts about the list, as there are books on there that I don't agree with, so just want to know if somebody else can vouch that it is set at sea?
For the oxymoron one:
Grave Mercy
Breaking the Devil's Heart
Will these work? I can't think today :(

I've read it. Unfortunately it's not set at sea, but on an island.
People are always going on about the bright stars and shining like a star. So for the oxymoron task, might this work?Dark Star

No, I wouldn't say those are oxymorons, sorry :(
Dark Star sounds fine though.
OMG I suck lol
How about:
* Brightest Kind of Darkness
* Monstrous Beauty
* The Walking Dead
* Dark Flame
* Sweet Venom
* My Life in Black and White
Sorry for asking the whole time!

* Dark Flame
Varla Fiona wrote: "Do you think Marcelo in the Real World could work for the insanity one (9)?"I did a bit of googling to see if autism is considered a mental disorder and therefore falls under psychopathology. Unfortunately it's considered neurodevelopmental, not psychological, and it's something permanent that can't be treated with therapy like, say, depression. So I'm afraid it doesn't count :(
Varla Fiona wrote: "Oxymorons: Falling Sideways?"I wasn't sure about that one, but then I saw it on a web page listing oxymoron titles, so I guess it counts :)
Is this wintry enough for no.30:
Winter and a winter storm is actually a major part of the plot, but there's nothing wintry about the title, and I'm not sure if the cover is suitable.
I am sorry, but I don't think it looks wintery at all. It could be a picture taken on a misty morning in summer, becaue the trees are evergreens. If it was me I wouldn't use it. But it was Liezel's nomination, let her make the final decision.

I wonder if it was the same place I found it!!

Going with Barbara on this one, it just looks misty not wintery :(
Lu (The Muggle) wrote: "Wait wait wait the cover you just quoted Liezel is not the one I am seeing by Lauren's post?"I dont know what happened there since I replied to Lauren's post, must be a goodreads gremlin :)
I looked at Lauren's cover and not really sure that it qualifies, but happy to go with the majority on this one - so if anyone else think that it works then Lauren can use it.
So about the trapped character point, do you guys think drug addiction counts, especially if the character is trying to quit (get out of the "trapped" situation)?
Okay 2 more questions, for the winter cover one, I got this on a list and not sure if I agree, but I sure hope that it will work, will this work
And then last one, will Happy Accidents count as a oxymoron?
Winter pic: It is white & the trees don't have leaves... Implies winter to me.
Oxymoron: Accidents are not normally happy, so I would agree.

About my winter cover - no worries, I'll find something else! I thought it was a bit questionable myself, which is why I asked.@Riana: I wouldn't say that cover is particularly wintry, but the title Shiver does imply cold. Also the cover for the French edition is definitely a winter cover:
Happy Accidents - sure, why not :)

Since this task was nominated by me, I thought I would give my opinion.
Yes, I would say it counts especially since the character is trying to quit. Every situation a character is trying to get out off, means the character feels trapped somehow.
