Liezel (liezkl) | 736 comments what about
Southern Gods by John Hornor Jacobs The Piper's Son by Melina Marchetta

Claudia (claudiavstoomanybooks) | 1779 comments I actually made a whole list of books published under different titles, and now I can only recall a few. Not very helpful.:(

The Keeper of Lost Causes/Mercy
Eon: Dragoneye Reborn/The Two Pearls Of Wisdom
Shadow and Bone/The Gathering Dark
Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?/Blade Runner

Dressed for Death was also published as The Anonymous Venetian. Medicus has a long and a short title. There's a bunch of Agatha Christie's with more than one name.

Forgot to tell you there is a list called "Books with alternate titles" which may help you.

This sounds pretty good: Five Flavors of Dumb by Antony John . Not sure it is your taste tho

message 158: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Smith I would read that, but Liezel's suggestion of Southern Gods is a bit more my style.

Didn't we read The Club Dumas together during this challenge?
I know that book is also published with the title The Dumas Club. Granted it is not hugely different but neither is the difference in the titles of the first HP book. And since I came up with that task I say it counts. :)

Lauren Smith Oh my god, you're right! Woohooo!

For nr 29 I see The Darkest Minds had a title change:

This would work right?

Claudia (claudiavstoomanybooks) | 1779 comments I didn't read the whole post, but was the book ever released to the general public with the title "Black is the Color"? I think only then would the title change count.

message 163: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Smith I agree with Claudia - it only counts if the book was actually published under that title.

2 questions:

10. Title picture - Would Carrie count as she is the one pictured?

24. Features one of your favourite species of animal - Would dragons count for reptiles?

message 166: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Smith 10: Yes, I'd say so.

24: I think that task specifies that it has to be a real animal. A dragon wouldn't count even if it's classified as a reptile.

kk thank you :)

That was my nomination and the task is listed on the nomination thread as:

24. Read a book that features one of your favourite species of animal. (It has to be a species that is accepted as real by science, nothing that is considered mythical!) - Needs to play a big part.

I'm convinced that dragons exist, but science had not yet found compelling evidence to agree with me, unfortunately!

I agree Varla! I found a Unicorn bone once, but nobody wanted to believe me :(
