Marc-Antoine Did it live up to the hype?

Gwenyth Love (everythinggwenny) The movie or the books? I haven't been able to see the movie yet, but I did really enjoy the series. But I have to say the first one is my favourite. I'm quoting my son when I say the following: "The first was awesome, the second was basically a repeat of the first but not as good, and the final one was just overly political and not that great".

Rachel | 31 comments the second book falls victim to Second Book Syndrome. It just feels like the middle of the story where nothing much builds. I thought it focused too much on what Katniss wore. I really loved the first and third books.

Marc-Antoine I have yet to read the second and third. I really enjoyed the first though, not sure I want to read the next two after all of the comments I have read.

Rachel | 31 comments I really do love the complete story, it just the middle drags a bit.

Tressa (moanalisa) First book is great, second OK, third book not so OK. It felt rushed or maybe I just wanted to rush through it.

Eileen That's exactly how I felt about the books. I liked the movie.

Ditto!

Rachel | 31 comments I thought the end of the third book had a strong emotional impact which won me over.

Tressa (moanalisa) I liked how it ended, but the chapters getting up to that point were just tedious and not interesting. It's like the choo choo train lost steam from an energetic start. I think I can I think I can *pssssshhhhh engine dies*

Ken B Is it wrong that I have no interest in reading any of these?

Tressa (moanalisa) Nope. I have no interest reading Sherlock Holmes books.
