Hyp: Fast or Slow Read?

I read this book in about a week. I would call it a fairly medium read. Bits of it took longer (The Poet's Tale) but other bits I just flew though (The Detective's Tale). I wouldn't worry too much about how long you're taking to read a book.
I found this to be a fast to medium read but I probably should have read it slower. The second book was faster.
I think because it's the first book I've read in the book group, and because I have books to read for university too, I read it really quickly out of fear of not having enough time. I think the book lent itself to fast reading though, because each Tale made me really curious to hear the next, so I raced through it full of curiosity.
I felt it as a fast read, but to be honest, I kept falling asleep on it... (Found it boring).Had I continued reading it, I would have been done by now, even if I hadn't read it as fast as I read books I actually like.
BTW, Didn't think Tom and Veronica read the book, I thought it was the Audio Book they did?

I don't listen to audio books myself, but I expect that some books may be less easy to listen to for long periods than others and keep the attention better, just the same as when reading.
@Ruth, what I meant was that you basically have to call it fast read if it's audio since it goes at a steady pace...As an experiment, I actually have read with the audiobook playing in my headphones. I found myself struggling to stay with the narration. I kept skipping and reading ahead of the audio book and found it annoying having to wait for it... lol
@Nimrod I get your point. Seems a fair way to describe it for the sake of the thread though.I'd probably be the same, though I haven't listened to audio books since I was a kid. I remember listening to them when I was on long journeys, but most of the time I would fall asleep then wake up not knowing what on earth was going on. Hmm, enjoyed a few stories via the radio though, so maybe I should give audio books another chance...maybe while I'm revising kanji.....ha, but I think I'm leading this thread off topic!
Nimrod wrote: "BTW, Didn't think Tom and Veronica read the book, I thought it was the Audio Book they did?"Same thing, they still read it. When I find a book to be a "fast read" vs. a "slow read" what I generally mean is that I spend more time compulsively reading it than I would otherwise; I don't actually physically move my eyes or process the words any faster. You could do the same with an audiobook simply by listening in longer and/or more frequent sessions.
@Gord, Ah! I thought you meant how easy it was to read as far as how many times you had to re-read something to be able to fully grasp the subject. (ie. needing to see the context a new term is used in to understand it).
I raced through it. But I think that was mainly because I desperately wanted to get to the end so I could move on to something more enjoyable.

There's no way at this rate that I'm going to be done by the wrap-up, but I'm enjoying taking my time with it.
