Hello, some books i've recently added to my shelves don't currently have covers on file. Is there a way to add the covers that i've scanned of these books, either by m'self or perhaps a moderator could do it?

If you post the ISBN and title of the book and then upload the cover to your additional photo's section some one can match the ISBN/ cover to the good reads book
if you are a librarian then you have the permission to edit and add info to any book by logging in the page of the book you want to edit , if not you can give me the cover that you scanned and url of the book
Ok, just uploaded another if someone could add it to the proper book. This one'll be a bit of a challenge, its for an edition that doesn't have an assigned ISBN number, but the author and edition info is in the picture file on my profile.I'd do this m'self, but last time i checked, i couldn't do this, i can only edit metadata.
Thanks,

Have you applied to be a librarian?

Ummm, hadn't even thought about it nor looked into the process, but i'll consider it, thanks.
I need someone to delete my old cover photos (ebook and paperback) and replace with the new one I uploaded into the additional photos please. I could do this myself up until tonight.....Title: The Man of My Dreams
Author: Gladys Quintal
ASIN: B005P2DQJ0
ISBN: 9781466415089
Thank You
Gladys
We do not delete covers unless the book was never published with the cover.Alternate cover editions are created instead
Edit: Alternate cover editions added here
http://www.goodreads.com/work/edition...
Also there is no way to change the default edition - that is the one shelved / rated most
The default cover is automatic; whichever is the most-shelved edition will be the default edition. When the number of people who shelve the new cover outweighs the number of people who shelved the old cover, the edition with the new cover will become the default.
Hi. Please add the book cover that I posted to my profile. It is for The Cyclist by Fred Nath. The two covers represented are for e-books. I listed the ISBN number in the image profile. Please let me know if you need further information.Thank you,
Aaron
re 20 - the paperback version already has a cover, it was just not combined with the other editions. The cover you posted in your profile looks to be the same as the one on the paperback
Orange Alert, by John RobeyISBN in system: 1929462697
ISBN in book: 1929462xx
I've uploaded scan of cover to my other pics.
(I assume once it's added, I can remove it from my section?)
1929462xx is not a valid ISBN. However, Openisbn has 1929462697 with the same cover, so I went ahead added it.You can delete t from your photos now. :)
Nope, not the same cover. The one I posted contains the line "A Compelling wartime drama from the master of storytelling" found on the cover. You can't upload this image from ISBN: 9780956492517?

Yeah, I know the xx isn't a valid ISBN, but that is what is listed on the indicia page. (I'm guessing it was more of a placeholder, that the company forgot to update when they exported for printing.)
They don't have any barcode on their books.

This is a first edition. Can you take the image from my posted photo? The ISBN that I note is also found on Amazon.com However, the image is from my own scanned copy. Thanks,
Aaron
Do you plan on replacing the cover with the cover that I have in my pictures? This is the 1st edition with the writing on the cover.
No, we definitely don't plan on replacing the cover; we don't replace covers of already-published books. We can, however, add an alternate cover edition for you.
This was an alternate cover edition, as you can see from my earlier posts. The person who added the cover didn't use the edition's cover that I provided which was the 1st edition for ISBN: 9780956492517. I believe he was trying to post a third edition printing.
Hi there, I am a brand new librarian and want to get started on the right foot. A couple of books in my own tbr list did not have covers. So I went to the individual publishers websites and copied the picture of the covers for those particular books (isbn #'s matched). So then I pasted those covers to my computer and desktop and then edited the books GR page and uploaded the cover. It seems to have worked OK. Did I do that right or did I miss something?
Do I now have to keep those images on my computer?

Nope you do not have to keep them on your computer. And yes you did it correctly. Just a warning: the only places we can take data from is publishers, even if they sell their own books (You did this correctly. It's more of a note than anything.)
Thanks for answering so quickly. I've seen all the discussion about Amazon and went to the publishers websites. What I wasn't sure of was if there was a photo gallery just for librarians that we needed to upload to first or if we could do it directly from our own computers. It sounds like I did it OK so I am happy!I have low vision issues so I require either large print editions or audiobooks. I find a lot of those lacking in the goodreads library. Many have been added but a whole bunch just in my personal to read collection don't have covers yet. Did they have covers that were attributed to Amazon and they were stripped away?
Sheila wrote: "Did they have covers that were attributed to Amazon and they were stripped away?"Unfortunately, many of them probably did.
Please excuse me if this has been answered elsewhere. What is the source for finding ebook and kindle covers?
I usually try to find unaffiliated websites or publishers or even authors for eBook covers. For Kindle editions I usually rely on dumb luck. ;)
Good, maybe Sheila, Vicky or Lafon will be able to correctly post the cover image that I've tried for days to have posted? I'm not sure why this is so difficult as I've provided a proper scan and ISBN number. Message 20 is where I begin on this thread.
Let me repeat: you asked for the image to be replaced, which we won't do as that ISBN already has a valid cover. So here is an alternate cover edition for you.
Does anyone know if it's ok to use the image from a (bought) epub file for the cover? I can't find my ebook image anywhere else (except on the Kobo site, but I understand we are not supposed to use pictures from book sellers)
Amara wrote: "I imagine that's in the same vein as scanning a cover, so you're probably safe to use that."
Agreed.
Agreed.

Oh I'm glad I found this, because I was going to ask the same thing - I did exactly as Sheila did yesterday, saving the files into my own computer and then uploading them directly from there.

Can we add a cover to The Lady in Gold, the Extraordinary Tale of Gustav Klimt's Masterpiece, Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer. Goodreads has a cover somewhere, because it appears off to the right on "other editions." The book has 79 reader reviews--yet no cover. It came out Feb. 7. Can we borrow the cover from "other editions" and put it on the main "no cover available" image? Can I do it myself? If so, how?
