Hit "refresh," not "post" again!

Sarah (songgirl7) I dunno, when I posted I got an error message.

Wow, Meghan. Think we get the point! LOL

Hit "refresh" rather than "post" again.

Yeah, it can't seem to keep up with us.

message 105: by Erica (last edited Aug 25, 2016 02:10PM) (new)

Erica Poole | 199 comments Um it won't post my last message!

Oh, it says nine dead now! Ugh this sucks!

message 106: by Sarah (last edited Aug 25, 2016 02:10PM) (new)

Sarah (songgirl7) Michele, I didn't hit "refresh" OR "post." I only hit post once, got an error message, clicked on "back to the Rory Gilmore Book Club" and then this thread and my comments were there.

message 107: by Erica (last edited Aug 25, 2016 02:10PM) (new)

Erica Poole | 199 comments Blech, have you talked to Otis about setting up stuff for live chat??

I only asked him about making it clear who is online in a group for such occasions.

message 109: by Erica (last edited Aug 25, 2016 02:10PM) (new)

Erica Poole | 199 comments Ah, we should suggest that!

message 110: by Sarah (last edited Aug 25, 2016 02:10PM) (new)

Sarah (songgirl7) OK guys, sorry to bail but I'm not feeling well. I think I'm gonna make it an early night.

whichwaydidshego | 1996 comments Mod
Yeah, but that would be a major overhaul. He'd have to design a whole new interface basically. It'd be better if we just made a date for an IM system.

message 112: by Erica (last edited Aug 25, 2016 02:10PM) (new)

Erica Poole | 199 comments ok, back to the book, I think that what I loved so much about it is that while a fairly outrageous topic, it handled it in such a way that I could see it really happening! she was so matter of fact about it!

You know I think I'm the only one here, but I didn't love this book. I liked it alright. I liked the time-traveling concept. But it just didn't do it for me.

message 122: by Erica (last edited Aug 25, 2016 02:10PM) (new)

Erica Poole | 199 comments Huh? Ok, they won't let you post anything with less than 5 characters? That is interesting.

message 123: by Erica (last edited Aug 25, 2016 02:10PM) (new)

Erica Poole | 199 comments So did you guys wanna talk about another book or something else?

message 124: by Meghan (last edited Aug 25, 2016 02:10PM) (new)

Meghan I didn't do it. It did it on its own. Apparently it felt I said something really important! lol. I cleaned it up.

I wonder if we should try this for the next book. Did we talk this one out?

message 126: by Meghan (last edited Aug 25, 2016 02:10PM) (new)

Meghan So anyone reading anything other than book club books?

message 127: by Erica (last edited Aug 25, 2016 02:10PM) (new)

Erica Poole | 199 comments I am re-reading some smut at the moment, I go through these phases where all I wanna do is re-read comfort novels.

I'm reading a book on Left-handedness. It's really interesting. Although because I was sick I haven't been reading anything really.

message 129: by Erica (last edited Aug 25, 2016 02:10PM) (new)

Erica Poole | 199 comments Hm, are you left handed?

message 130: by whichwaydidshego, the sage of sass (last edited Aug 25, 2016 02:10PM) (new)

whichwaydidshego | 1996 comments Mod
I get it, Erica. I do that with mysteries and certain chick-lit authors and WW2 stories... and classics even. I will start craving. Also, Harry Potter because that is like revisiting long-time good friends.

message 131: by whichwaydidshego, the sage of sass (last edited Aug 25, 2016 02:10PM) (new)

message 133: by Erica (last edited Aug 25, 2016 02:10PM) (new)

The world is against us, I tell you! But we're elite! Only about 10% of the world's population!

I'm only a few chapters in, so it's a lot about the history of the science of it - how science has tried to explain it. But it has begun to discuss the ways society has treated it as evil over the years and things like that.

message 137: by Meghan (last edited Aug 25, 2016 02:10PM) (new)

Meghan sorry had to put Jade down. Let me back read.

message 138: by Erica (last edited Aug 25, 2016 02:10PM) (new)

Erica Poole | 199 comments yeah, society isn't great with anything 'different'!

message 139: by Meghan (last edited Aug 25, 2016 02:10PM) (new)

Meghan I tend to be right-handed but I am ambidexterous. I played basketball and they wanted us to be really strong in both hands so we did all these exercises to strengthen our weaker hand. So now I can use both.

message 140: by Meghan (last edited Aug 25, 2016 02:10PM) (new)

Meghan But even though I am right handed, I tend to think right brained. I'm weird that way.

message 141: by Erica (last edited Aug 25, 2016 02:10PM) (new)

Erica Poole | 199 comments Aw man, I wish I could do that!

No joke. Yet it is the "different" that make the great strides in the world. So to me, now at least, it is something to be proud of and aspire to!

message 143: by Meghan (last edited Aug 25, 2016 02:10PM) (new)

Meghan My friends grew up in Catholic school and they use to force kids to all use their right hands. They didn't want anyone to experience the "pain" of being different, but we all tease them that the left hand is the devil's instrument.

message 144: by Erica (last edited Aug 25, 2016 02:10PM) (new)

It talked about that... then about the one place in scripture where an entire left-hand army was used... plus there is they guy that got to kill the evil king because when he got to see him he was searched on the left side and so he got a sword in on the right side where a left-hander puts it!

message 146: by Meghan (last edited Aug 25, 2016 02:10PM) (new)

Meghan Do you see those ads for the Lewis and Clark organization? I haven't checked it out and have no idea if it's a crock. But I like what they say in their ad. They talk about how these two were successful because they embraced the world's differences. They not only accepted the differences but wanted to learn more. And considering they were going into untraveled wilderness, they had to adapt. The site implies that more of that attitude is needed in this world, and I have to agree.

It's weird. This country is so big on individuality, but nonconformity is almost taboo. I say let's be happy we're different and rejoice in our similarities.

message 147: by Erica (last edited Aug 25, 2016 02:10PM) (new)

Erica Poole | 199 comments Wow, such a simple thing as which hand you use can dominate so much! It is amazing.

I'm excited to finish it, but want to read our club books first. (Excited about them, too!)

message 149: by Meghan (last edited Aug 25, 2016 02:10PM) (new)

Meghan But I think it's interesting that every left-hander I know writes the same.
