Hey Elaine,

One of my favotie lines that you wrote:

I am a writer; an obvious fact. I am also insane...

I love that line :)

Elaine (caladhiel) | 1020 comments LOL, Tink!

Thanks so much, Dee! I like that line too. =D For some reason I like reading it with an English accent. I don't know why, it just sounds cool that way! LOL! :) I have excerpts of some of my stories on GoodReads now, if you'd care to give any feedback. :P

Oh, wait!! *runs back in* I first have to wish a special Felix a happy birthday today! *pulls out birthday cake* I don't know about you, but I think that a 200th birthday is worth celebrating! Happy birthday, Felix! =) (Felix Mendelssohn, by the way)

Sorry I missed the party.

*Places a birthday card on Elaine's desk. On the envelope are the words*

For Felix Mendelssohn's 200th birthday!

*Puts a big fudge brownie with a single candle, on Elaine's desk, next to the card*

Elaine (caladhiel) | 1020 comments I'm quite happy with the poem I just wrote so I'm going to post it here. If you'd care to vote or comment, here is the link:

Oh, and listen to this song while you read it =):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDBsE5...

Claimed by the Sea

My eyes fill with swollen tears
Falling to the wet sand
Feet stumbling, making a path
Running away from my endless fears

I see your bright, happy face
Through this sheet of grief
I call out your name in the dark
Yet you fly away with grace

Why, oh, why have you left me?
When you said you never would
By your side I would have stayed
Why can that never be?

I am broken and lost
Shattered heart I no longer possess
It's hole filled with agony
Do you see your action's cost?

I quail against this pain
You left me to suffer, to be my own
But I am your's and will always be
Tied to you by love's chain

Don't you see what you've done?
I must follow you forever
My heart has gone with you
And so must too I run

You faded into the mist
Until your soul set free
Though I cried, you did not come
And I also failed to exist

And so it is my last plea
Hold me in your arms once more
Take me to the other side
As I too am claimed by the sea

*Dances into Elaine's writing cubical and drops off a little gift*

UB. Tonic.

Un-Blockage Tonic is especially created for “Writer’s Constipation.”
Caution: use sparingly, as to not cause the dreaded “Writer’s diarrhea.”

Loved the poem Elaine, don't know if you really need the tonic, but keep it around just in case :)

message 177: by Elaine (new)

Elaine (caladhiel) | 1020 comments Thanks Dee for both the Tonic and the kind comment! I'll be sure not to use it all at once! :) Happy writing!

Elaine (caladhiel) | 1020 comments lol! Well, I didn't really write anything wonderful...just a practice essay.

Day 37 - Feb 6th

Worked on: A practice essay
Last sentence written:
By looking at the similarities between the responsibility needed, the management of time used, and the careful work done by both a good student and a good driver, it is apparent that the policy that requires a teenager to maintain a “C” grade average before receiving a driver's license is a well founded one.

Oh, thanks Dee. I had it right in the actual essay, just a typo. :P

Yippers I know ALL about typos, sigh. Sometimes I think my fingers have a mind of their own. Just didn't know if you caught it, just incase it was something you had to turn in.

message 196: by Elaine (new)

Elaine (caladhiel) | 1020 comments Well, I'm a terrible speller, so it's always a good possibility that I spelled it wrong. :(

message 197: by Dee, Fan of the "Young Prose Society" (new)

Dee Marie (dee_marie) | 3382 comments Mod
Nope, that was a typo...Takes a maker of typos to spot one :)

message 198: by Elaine (new)

Elaine (caladhiel) | 1020 comments Yep, I knew that one was a typo because I actually hand wrote the essay and then typed it up so that I could get the word count, so all I had to do was look at the original to see. :)

I hate transcribing my handwriting. I can never read what I wrote.

message 200: by Elaine (new)

Elaine (caladhiel) | 1020 comments Did you just do that on purpose? Had instead of hate? Most my trouble with reading my writing is misspells. Especially when I was younger. lol!
