Oh. Then either title works well. I was wondering how 'Voices' would apply to the man. Tee-hee. :)
Anyways, I really like your writing style, it's interesting to read. And you use a very diverse range of vocabulary, which makes writing all the more interesting when you occasionally have to look a word up. Captivating story. I understand completely about hearing little voices in your head. If I could have one day without them.... LOL

Maybe it had been meant for someone else to know, but had been misplaced in my brain instead and, due to the fact that my mind is so packed with boxes and hangings of the most ridiculous sorts, they could not find it amid the mess and was therefore unable to extract it and transfer it to where it rightfully belonged.

This day was close! *takes a big breath* Closer than I'd care for. I remembered I still had to do my writing when I was brushing my teeth, but I wasn't too fazed about it, I'd do it. But then, after I was done, I looked at the clock: 11:52pm!!! Panic! I really didn't want to fail so I began to write, feverishly trying to get as many words in as possible. As I wrote the last sentence I looked at the clock: 12:00am! I then counted it up and I was so scared I hadn't made it! But, with the help of that last sentence, I did! *sigh*

Story worked on: Actually my sister and I did 3 writing prompts together. We'd pick a prompt, write for 10 min (though I think we went over every time), and then we'd each read ours out loud. It was really funny how different our writings were even though we started with the same prompt. I liked my last one best so I'm going to post it here. The prompt is in bold.
“Why do you seek the river?”
I laughed at my nerd of a friend's metaphor.
“Where would you advise me to seek?”
“Anywhere but the river, surely.”
“Yeah? Well, what happens when you have no where else to go?”
“You make a bridge.”
I rolled my eyes. I was in no mood for humor. He had not intended it as a joke, so I guess a more appropriate statement would be, I was in no mood to pass seriousness off as humor. Whatever.
We entered the campus library then and I used that as an excuse for no reply. Paul did not seem to notice, however.
“Really, I don't like it. Give me one good reason.”
I huffed a sigh and walked pointedly up the staircase to the next level. Not until I was in the row I was looking for did I speak. He waited patiently, which, of course, only annoyed me more.
“I don't know,” I finally spat at him.
“Hmm, then perhaps your mind is balking against it. Perhaps reason and non logical and irrational action are fighting in a head to head confrontation. Responses that you seek are not being sent to your brain, which is why you are drawing a blank.”
I pulled several books off the shelf and pilled them in his arms.
“Go annoy, oh, excuse me, analyze, a geek your own size.”

Hmmm...I don't know. Do you think I should count it? I can't decide!
*shrugs* It's your choice. I probably would, 'cause like the motto says, "Write in 2009. Even if it's just a list." XD

Hey, I made some chocolate chip cookies today with DARK chocolate chips. *offers plate* It seems that this group likes chocolate. =D
Hmmmm, you say that you like dark chocolate, Kenzie? Hmmmm... I might be in a position to get you some! And it won't be just dark chocolate! It could even be mildly mocha flavored!!!! I think that one is... slick road? Hmmm, there's Slick Road and Michigan Road that are dark, and two white chocolate ones, and four milk chocolate, all with all kinds of tasty fun stuff mixed in!
Ah, Okay, I found it. Slick road has almonds, marshmallows, and cappuchino flavoring.
Ah, having access to chocolate is awesome. *applauds my mother, who isn't even on this site*

Hey Elaine...
You have a very creative mind :]
One wee suggestion...can you give your story some "white space." It is hard to read online without spaces between the paragraphs. My old eyes tend to blur things together, and I really do like what you have written.
My all time favorite line...
He was most likely there to torment my mind which was already dangerously full.
Truly brilliant!

I'm planning to post excerpts to some of my stories on GoodReads and, when I do, I'd LOVE some feedback! I'm always looking to improve. In the meantime, I was wondering if you'd do me a favor and read some of my poetry? Here's the link:
