For the Bloggers

As a short summary: I do book reviews, movie reviews, author interviews, writing tips and advice, recipes, every once in a while a "Weird History Fact" rant, and of course I talk about my own stories and if something especially interesting - or odd or inconvenient - happens in my life, I blog about that. And naturally, I talk about Sherlock Holmes. :)

Here's my blog:http://amgalant.com/
It's about Mongol things -- history and culture. Don't read the maunderings of an artistic temperament, such as start with 'Why did God give writers blogs? He didn't -- we invented them. It's obviously a bad idea.'
But most of the blog is about Mongols. With art and artefacts, which I like to collect. On the site at least. And links to Mongolian museums, art and craft shops, online poetry.
On the page 'The Secret History of the Mongols' is the note I have in my novels about the 13thC source I use.
I am so jealous of you all and your skills, l'm afraid l do not have enough writing talent for even a blog, nevermind a actual book.Am really enjoying some of yours though.
My website is http://www.cplesley.com. You can access my blog from there or directly at http://blog.cplesley.com.Yikes, more stuff to read! I already follow Hazel and Bryn, but I'm having a hard enough time keeping up with Goodreads.
Glad to have the addresses, though. All in good time....
I know I really wish I had more time to read people's blogs, but I don't otherwise I would be on the computer all day. I usually try to go through the weeks' posts of the ones I follow on the weekends which is silly because I actually have less time on the weekends than during the week :P
Mine's at http://sandrasaidak.com/ and I just added a new post about five minutes ago. So, great timing Hazel, and thanks for starting this thread. It started out as a way to promote my books, but now it's mostly just me talking to myself (although I'd love to hear from any of you!)
isn't blog a fun word ?, l may try pronouncing it different ways and drive my wife crazy today ( early days but the quick ''blog'' sounds funniest so far )
Hi, bloggers:Someone tagged me in the 7/7 blog challenge. Deal is that you post 7 lines from page 7 (or 77) of your unpublished work in progress on your blog and tag seven other writers, as well as linking back to the person who tagged you.
In brief, I need four writers willing to participate (maybe five, but I'll need a few days to be sure). Let me know if you're interested.
If you'd like to see the process in action before you agree, here is the post that tagged me: http://louise-west.blogspot.co.uk/201....
It's free publicity, basically. People who read my posts will see your name and a link to your blog, and vice versa.
If only I were up to p.7 of my unpublished work, that can't be said to be in progress. Woe is me. Blog's a great word, I enjoy it every time.

I'll join in, CP, let me know when I'm supposed to post it.

Hazel wrote: "I'll join in, CP, let me know when I'm supposed to post it"Super! And I have your blog address. I'll send a message when I publish the post.
Bryn, seriously? How about a seventh paragraph? ;)
My home page is http://paulinemontagna.net. It's linked to three other blogs which are not on going blogs but rather archives of 1) my research for Not Wisely but Too Well which is named after the series http://stuffofdreamsseries.blogspot.c...2) Ms Montagna's Miscellany http://msmontagnasmiscellany.blogspot... which is a collection of various articles I've written over the last few years and 3)The Writer/Publisher http://writerpublisher.blogspot.com.au/ which is the sum total of all I've learnt about self-publishing. I'm also on Facebook, of course, with a personal profile and author page.
Amanda wrote: "I'd love to do it, if you still need participants!"Great. So I have Hazel and Amanda. Two more spots (maybe three) if anyone is interested. Sandra? Steven? Pauline?
Amanda, I have your blog address and Hazel's, so I will post when I have a full set of volunteers and publish my list.
I'd like to join in that 7/7 challenge, but I might need clarification on some things that I know are pretty basic to the rest of you (like how to tag--I think I know how, but will need to be sure). Just let me know when!

Just thinking out loud here Douglas, but a part in one of your books would be a awesome prize in your E-Zine.
John;I don't want to spoil the surprise when the issue comes out, but there is a contest involved whereby the winners will have their names used in an upcoming book.
Just secured my seventh writer/blogger, so I will publish my post tomorrow and send you—Amanda, Hazel, and Sandra—the link when it goes live. Thanks, all of you!

Great timing for me, as I have next week off work. Really looking forward to it.
The post is live, although I have to edit it tomorrow for a couple of small glitches (Blogger was acting really weird this afternoon): http://blog.cplesley.com/2013/02/seve....I was going to send personal messages, but then I thought, why not let all the history buffs link to these fine writers' blogs? :) So instead I am posting here.
Hope the rules are clear. Maybe some of you will be willing to help Hazel, Amanda, and Sandra fulfill their quotas!
My weblog is htt://brendan-carroll.com. I do some writing there, blogging, and other writerly stuff.

1. Do I have to have my seven writers lined up before I make my post?
2. Can I basically copy what you and Amanda have already written in terms of explaining the challenge?
3. Is it ok to mentin my other, already published books, or link to them?
Thanks again; this looks like fun!
1. I think that's up to you, but you will probably get the most oomph out of the post if all the pieces are in place before you make it. I waited a couple of weeks to collect the names (and links) before I posted.2. Absolutely!
3. I don't see why not. Mine are plastered along the side of the blog layout, plus I mention them about every other Friday, so I didn't bother, but I'm sure it's not verboten.
Amanda, you're amazing! How did you get it done so fast?!
Amanda wrote: "C.P. wrote: "1. I think that's up to you, but you will probably get the most oomph out of the post if all the pieces are in place before you make it. Okay, I forgot to put up the link to my 7/7 post here, but here it is now! http://hazelwest.blogspot.com/2013/02...
A couple of my tagged people haven't gotten theirs up yet, but they will soon, so I hope you'll give them a look too =)

I finally got my seventh blogger for my 7/7 challenge, so hopefully I'll have the post up tomorrow.Nice blog, Hazel!
The post is up! See what you think. And thanks again to C.P. Lesley for getting the thing started, and inviting the seven of us in!http://sandrasaidak.com/welcome-to-th...

Nice!
My blog is http://jdrhawkins.com. My emphasis is Civil War history. Please check it out and let me know what you think! Thank you.
J.D.R. wrote: "My blog is http://jdrhawkins.com. My emphasis is Civil War history. Please check it out and let me know what you think! Thank you."Wow! Another writer with an interest in the Civil War. I checked it out. Great entries and a professional looking site. I'll give your books a closer look.
That green color wafting into your office is envy.
I just posted an article on a 'cure' for small pox and scarlet fever in the 1800's. Click on my blog tab at my website:http://www.stevenspen.com/

Just a note of encouragement, John, every writer absolutely needs readers. You are appreciated! Beth

My current wip is set in Hobart Town in 1842-3, and the residents must cope with a scarlet fever epidemic. So the shoe fits! Hi from Beth

Hi back, Beth and Thank you. Glad you liked the entry. I'm giving your site a once over as I write. Very impressive. I love HF and enjoy seeing other writers doing it. If you don't mind I'm putting a link to your site in my 'links' tab. 'Don't get a lot of traffic yet but it's growing.
J.D.R. wrote: "Thank you very much for the compliments! I checked yours out as well and I think it looks great!"I hope you meant me JDR. If so thank you very much. I'll add you to my links list with Beth and others if you would not mind. Spreading the word about HF writers is alway important in my book.
If you do mind, message me and I'll remove it.
I need to spend more time on Goodreads and less time at my job that pays the bills. :) How did I miss this great thread? That said, I just subscribed to your blog, Hazel. :D

Just so you know, your link doesn't work. I suspect it's because it's missing the "p" in "http".
