Whats all the hype about?

I haven't read this series yet but I do know that originally it was a Twilight Fanfic. Which maybe why I have steered clear of it.
I was wondering if anyone has read the series and if so what are your thoughts on it?
I currently have a huge list of books to read so I'm not sure if I should move some of them back down the list and add these to the "must" read or if I should give them a miss.

This novel was originally written for Edward & Bella but the writers of Twilight decided to give it a miss because of its darkness and raciness. It was said that the essence of it was not what they wanted to portray their relationship to be especially not to a young audience so they dropped it. Its a about a damaged man who was abused as a child who meets a Virgin not long out of college. He gets her to sign a contract saying that he owns both her and her soul and can do whatever he likes to her...she's so blinded and in awe of him so she does as he asks and she then gets led down a road of S&M, control, manipulation etc...then it comes to a head of does she let her heart rule her head, can she get out and save herself? Its not too bad if your into that thing but I think its a little extreme :-)

Sounds pretty extreme, Popi. Not sure it is something I want to read. Might just add it to the "maybe" list.

It is extreme as I said but its not for everyone. Even if you read it once then at least you can say 'eh' read it liked it or hated it :-) xxx
