I might be paraphrasing here, but: "The darkness stuck to her face like a thick paste." The quote itself isn't so special, but it struck me how brilliant the author was that he could describe something so accurately. (from Blindness by Jose Saramago).

Saddest film: it's not actually a sad film, but the ending still touched me a lot - Into The Wild.
