I'm not sure how to get a mod's attention anymore, but could one of youse please change the settings so we don't get this unbelievably annoying "Group Rules" popup on every comment.

Thank you ever so much.

Linda (lindacee) | 292 comments I was wondering about that! Not sure why it's suddenly popping up, I thought everyone was behaving (as much as is possible anyway) ;)

If that's the case, it's going to completely backfire and I myself am going to start throwing around the apostrophe's.

Barb, thanks. No, I have never tried to PM a mod. I guess I figured it would be faster to post a message that everyone checking TC would be able to read - I don't know what mods are online, if any, and I wouldn't want to send 8 messages. Surely that would be overkill.

message 6: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Fixed. Thanks, Barb. You're the best.

Yeah, it is p retty easy to see w ho is online by go in ng to members and clicking last on line and then scroll down to find a mod recently around.

Thanks, Barb. I'm glad you are my deputy

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments whenever someone sends me a PM a huge spotlight powers up a beam from my secret lair so a tremendous GR logo shines in the sky, my phone then blasts out o fortuna and white doves are released from the saddlebags of my harley davidson. so far this has never happened but i bet it's gonna be cool when it does

Félix (habitseven) We all need to send you more PMs.

Impressive setup! With me it just goes straight to my e-mail.

Thanks, Barb, for being on it. :)

It hasn't happened because you used up your FX budget buying head polish. Sorry.

Anyone know why, when I click on the "tools & guidelines" link above the moderators' photos, and then click on "Manage blocked members," it appears I'm able to unblock those people banned from TC?

I didn't unblock anyone, just wondering...

message 22: by janine (new)

janine | 7709 comments Weird. That shouldn't be possible.

message 23: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I can do it, too. An interesting group there. Some I had forgotten about.

So, I have a question for the Mods. When someone starts a thread that may duplicate an old thread (or is close to it in subject) they often get pointed to the old thread and are even sometimes a little bit chastised.

Well, my question is, why can't the old thread just reference the new thread in it's last post and then carry on with the new thread?

Here's my reasoning. Old threads, while fun at the time are really old conversations...fun to look back on, but also daunting to a newbie, or returning member who may not even have the heart to click when they see that there are HUNDREDS of posts to make it through to follow the conversation. O'course I normally just read the original post and page forward to what has been posted in the last few months...that's me. I'm wondering how many others just skip great topics, because they are unwilling to dive into a thread that long?

What do you think?

Go for it, Ames... you post the link on the old threads to the new thread. That's my thought on it. I can't speak for the other mods, though.

Also, I'm pretty sure that I'm the one who was doing most of the chastising. I'm not married to the idea of keeping posts in old threads, though. I just think it's neat to revisit old threads so I like when TC members drudge up old discussions like LG does quite a bit.

message 43: by [deleted user] (new)

Whenever LG tells me there's an old thread? :)

message 44: by Heidi (new)

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments Amelia wrote: "Whenever LG tells me there's an old thread? :)"

I'm not sure what you're asking me here, but I'll bet I'd be cool with it. Maybe?

message 45: by [deleted user] (new)

I dredge em up too, from time to time. There's a lot of fun old stuff buried in there. But, sometimes when they're really really long, and you were never in there in the first place...

It's not like I'm suggesting getting rid of anything old, just maybe not forcing the new into the old. Make sense?

message 46: by Heidi (new)

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments BunWat wrote: "I say if you want to start new threads, and LG wants to revive antique ones, more power to both of you. We don't have to all do things the same."

Yes. What Bun said...

message 47: by [deleted user] (new)

I like the reviving too. I guess I'm just asking if it's okay if new ones are started even if they might tie into something old.

I'm doing it again...speaking Amy. GAIL!!!!!

message 48: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I think all of this was covered in another thread.
