Mark Catalfano (cattfish) Have you ever tried to use a language translation site across multiple languages?

Yeah maybe CPUs can ape writers but there's a bit more to it then just throwing words together

actually, after reading that sentence, it might replace a good 50-60% of current authors.

Joshua Kidd | 22 comments Hypothetically I guess we could one day write programs that create procedurally generated stories, maybe even based on information about the reader. It'd be easy to alter story elements of a basic outline based on reader data, but an entire story without any prompting? Maybe one day.

Aloha | 919 comments Thanks, P. I added the book.

Cattfish....ooh, fried catfish sounds good about now...I've used the translator and if you don't know a little bit about the language, you won't notice the funny mistakes the translator makes. I have some automatic sketch and painting apps. They can give you some ideas of effects, but it lacks the aesthetic fine tuning of a human artist.

Aloha | 919 comments I downloaded it. LOL! It looks like some of the post-modernist work I'm starting to get into. I love the pictures.
