Hi. I'm glad you stopped by to ask. First of all, I don't have much time to write. I work during the day and sit down at the computer about 8:00 PM. I spend an hour networking, trying to promote my books and then I spend an hour doing the actual writing. Sometimes on the wee ends, I spend more time writing. It's hard to balance, work, writing and family time. When I start a new story or novel, I try to write at least 250 to 500 words a day until I finish. I don't worry about editing or anything like that, until I'm finished, all though I do spell check after each writing session. When I am finished with a project, I set it aside for a while and move onto something else. If its a short story, maybe a few days. If it's a novel, a couple of weeks or more. Then I go back and edit. I look for places where I could use better description, more action, I try to show and not tell. Then when I think I have it as good as I can get it, I give it a final read, and still find mistakes. Sometimes I print a hard copy and use a red ink pin. Sometimes I have a cup of coffee or something cold to drink while I'm writing, but not always. I think with writing, you have to just do it. Thanks for posting.
