I'm extremely confused by that sentence.

That made me smile :)

Annalisa (goodreadsannalisa) I think the main reason the movie failed is because the magic of the book is the relationship between Eragon and Sapphirea, them growing up together and learning the world of dragon riders together. That relationship was not there in the movies. They tried to capture the battle scenes without developing the characters.

The reason Eragon could have used a better editor is because he didn't want one. This book became famous because it's one of the few instances where a self-published author made it big. I actually liked Eragon despite the lack of good writing because I thought it was creative (even if it had a lot of borrowed ideas), enjoyed Eldest, and had to drag my feet through Brisingr. Even the action scenes lacked action. Maybe the last book will be good. I'm hoping so. But I wouldn't expect it to come out anytime soon. I believe there were 6 years between the release of Eldest and Brisingr.

Amanda The Book Slayer (amanda_the_book_slayer) | 12 comments Okay I thought that Eragon was okay, Eldest got better and Brisinger was even better. I think that Christopher is getting to be a better author. He left the series off with more questions then answers and I am dying to find out what happens next. I wonder when the next book will come out.

message 55: by Sache (new)

Sache (sarawtflmao) I loved the books but when I saw the movie, all I could think was "owwh, somebody took this DVD from the player and put it on the garbage trash along with my expired Chitatos."
fortunately, I didn't watch in on Cinema and borrowed the DVD from my friend that meant, I didn't waste my money for this movie trash.

well, whatever. I like the books though, even the third book seems don't have any progress. and when will the fourth comes out anyway? I have waiting it since million years!

Ariel | 21 comments I love this series ! & am eagerly awaiting the fourth book .. Does anyone know when it's supposed to come out ? I agree the movie wasn't the greatest , but I actually liked it and thought it couldd have been much worse .

message 57: by Nat (new)

Nat | 8 comments I actually saw the movie before I read the book and enjoyed the movie so thats why I decided to read the series. But after reading the book and falling in love with the books, the movie was disappointing ( i did think that Brom and Murtuagh were cast perfectly though).

Ariel, i dont think a release date has been set for the 4th book yet, but Im dying to read so hopefully its not too far away!!

Eleanor | 4 comments READ ERAGON AND ELDEST, LOVED THEM! MOVIE ALRIGHT BUT THEY CHANGED THE STORY!!!!!!!

message 60: by Yaa (new)

Yaa (mediocreatbest) LOVED ERAGON and ELDEST. Really disappointed with Brisingre. HATED the movie. wow. it was crap.

message 61: by Wendes (last edited Jun 30, 2010 10:31AM) (new)

Wendes I LOVE the series!!! the only problem is the major waits between the books. there has been no info about book 4. what bugs me most about the movie aside from the already greatly mentioned fact that they cut so much stuff from the actual book is that the actress for Arya was casted really horribly. she was way too old (even though yes, i know elves are old and Arya was a lot older than Eragon but still, she was supposed to look young and around his age)

message 62: by Yaa (new)

Yaa (mediocreatbest) Yehhh! Ur rite!! Never realli noticed that..

message 63: by Valencia (new)

Valencia (empowered) | 20 comments I got into the books a couple years after the movie came out. I really loved the movie and still do after reading the books. Yeah they cut out a lot and made it impossible to continue the series, but if you watch it without comparing to the book it's a pretty amazing movie. I've read all the books. Even though I think Chris is a little long winded I love the world he brought to life!!! The last book made me a little sad in the end, but I felt like that was the right ending ya know?? Like that was the best way to end it even though he doesn't get the girl :( I would love to see more of this world!!! :D

message 64: by Angie, YA lovin mod!! (new)

Angie | 2687 comments Mod
I have all the books but haven't gotten around to reading the last book in the series yet.

message 65: by Kerr (new)

Kerr (paein) | 8 comments I started reading these because a friend lent me the first one. I've only read one and 2 because I had serious problems with the whole thing. LOVED the idea, however, instead of going with it,it felt like the writer tried to make it more complex and possibly even 'adult' than it needed to be by throwing in big words and phrases that knock you out of the story and leaving you thinking 'huh?'
I also felt that in book 2 it started to head into the realms of fanfiction, and I struggle to explain what I mean by that...The character was being put through stuff, he wasnt going through stuff perhaps?

message 66: by Kendra (new)

Kendra Marie (kendramarie) books were amazing but the movie was horrible in my opinion. seems to me that a lot of other feel the same way as well

message 67: by David (new)

David Estes (davidestesbooks) Yeah, I'm with you there. The movie was really disappointing. Should have been an epic Lord of the Rings style movie that turned into four movies. Instead it was a big flop :( But agree, loved the books!

message 68: by Kendra (new)

Kendra Marie (kendramarie) Definitely was thinking a Lord of the Rings style movie too! Was hoping for a movie for Eldest done this way but oh well, the books were great so I shouldn't complain :)

message 69: by David (new)

David Estes (davidestesbooks) LOL true, we're already spoiled! But still...

message 70: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl L | 14 comments These books were amazing! :)

message 71: by David (new)

David Estes (davidestesbooks) I totally agree, Cheryl!

Totally agree! Fanfic of Tolkien. Book 3 was full of attempts at poetry, music, and folklore Tolkien-style, but not very successful at building/contributing to an interesting world. I couldn't take it.
