I am very enamored of To End All Wars: A Story of Loyalty and Rebellion, 1914-1918, and am trying to get a foothold in Tree of Smoke.

I was having a slump but am now really into, "The Devil All The Time," by Pollack. I have not read him before. It's very gritty with traces of McCarthy. I am waiting on tons of things at the library which, although I try to stagger and freeze some holds, will still probably arrive at once! I'm excited about a new Augusten Burroughs although I didn't care for last one.
I've started The Passage by Justin Cronin. Only read first two chapters so far and can't wait to get a chance to really dig in.
I am currently reading Beat the Reaper for another GR group and I am quickly coming to the end of Interpreter of Maladies; both pretty good, but Interpreter of Maladies is sublime!
I'm reading The Postmortal for my book club. It's ok. I don't love it, but I don't hate it. After this, I will return to The Riverman: Ted Bundy and I Hunt for the Green River Killer.
The Painted Veil has kept me busy.Interesting and well-written book. I like the lesson in the book: It's not worth having an affair.
