I'd rather read than do anything else, too. :)

Me too!! I envy you Anne lol. I wish I could somehow read and still make money... someone let me know when they find out how to do that.So anyway.. I just received Kim Harrison's new book from the library (I refused to buy a hardcover) White Witch Black Curse. I will be starting it soon.
Has anyone read Hood The King Raven Trilogy by Stephen R. Lawhead? I was just looking at the series and was wondering if it is any good?
Jess I feel your pain with Grad school I am allegedly writing my thesis but I just got all my new books so I am trying to schedule in my reading time and the fact that I read multiple books at a time just doesn't help.Kelly Anne never heard of it but a retelling of Robin Hood....ummm not sure that would work for me I like the tales as they are you know however I did like Wicked. Let me know if you like it.
Shazzy wrote: "My copy of The Mammoth Book of Paranormal Romance came today and i..."Ooh, I got the shipping notification for that before I left on holiday. I expect it to be waiting for me on my return. Fun!
Shazzy wrote: "Darkheart, i'll be reading it at the stroke of midnight! I've been waiting to read the Ilona Andrews and Kelley Armstrong stories. I'm in book heaven this month! :)"LOL, you know, I don't even know who is in it. I initially ordered it back when J.R. Ward was the first listed author, only to later have her confirm she isn't in it. But Ilona Andrews and Kelley Armstrong? Awesome! That will help tide me over waiting for Magic Strikes and help inspire me to resume my reading of the Women of the Otherworld series (I need more Clay!). =D
Considering my mixed feelings over Marked, I'm not sure why I'm drawn to keep reading the series, but I started Betrayed today. I think maybe part of me wanted to quickly start a non-challenge book for March before the month officially started, that way I'd have an excuse to keep reading it. And I've officially reserved my copy of Second Skin, so will be at the book store bright and early Tuesday morning to start that one. =)
DarkHeart -The House of Night series is one of those that you just have to keep reading it even if you have mixed feelings! That's the way that I've felt about all 4 of the ones that are out so far, but I still have ever intention of reading Hunted: A House of Night Novel when it comes out next week. I think that it's because of how they end each of the books. The last 2 both ended on such major cliff hangers that even if you didn't love the book, you just have to find out what's going to happen next!
Shazzy, yeah, it looks awesome. And, I read that us fans of Kate and Curran won't be disappointed. Woohoo! I actually just got the first two books from Audible so that I can "re-read" them in preparation. Yay! Bring on the Beast Lord!
I'm getting acquainted with the Nightside series I heard about in one of the groups here in GR. Currently reading Just Another Judgement Day, it's out of sequence (#9), but the only one I could find in the library.
I just finished Hostage to Pleasure in the psy/changeling series... which is fantastic btw... and now I'm going to start Poltergeist which is the second book in the greywalker series by Kat RichardsonI found that although I like these UF books, I have to spread them out among PNR books otherwise I get bored with all the running around and fighting.
I finally decided to finish
The Pipes of Orpheus
(not PNF or UF) by Jane Lindskold and I'm working dilligently on the short stories in
Witch Fantastic
...
Just finished Memory and Dream -- LOVED it. Definitely going to read more Charles deLint. Any recommendatinos?I'm reading Twilight now -- had to see what all the buzz was about. :)
I just finished Eternal Pleasure and Ravenous Eternal Pleasure was ok BUT Ravenous was good. It is about a witch who gets hurt by her powers but she needs tuition money so she does light jobs and she also has a partner who is a vampire. Anyway she goes up against a demon possessed house that almost kills her. So I really liked this story it feels more like urban fantasy with romance than pnr but I think the characters were well developed and I liked the plot it had some twists and turns that I did not see. I would highly recommend this one. Here is the link to the excerpt if you are interested: http://www.sharonashwood.com/excerpt.php
Jess ....I liked Poltergeist and Underground (well I liked Underground more) but I would be interested to find out what you think.
Bonnie ...oh Twilight I liked it it, IMO it is not great writing and sometimes SM really gets on my nerves but over all it was sweet.
Well, I finished Hunted last night. As I stated in my review, I have a real love/hate relationship with the House of Night series. Zoey drives me nuts, and yet I feel compelled to keep reading. Sigh...Now I'm back to You Slay Me, after that brief detour. My friend is convinced that Katie MacAlister is too light for me (mainly, I believe, because I didn't like the one Lynsay Sands book I read). I'm determined to prove her wrong, that I don't need my books filled with angst and tortured men. We'll see. LOL
I am reading a couple of books by Neil Gaiman. I am just finishing up Coraline and then I am going to read The Graveyard Book
I just finished the 5th book in Jennifer Rardin's series.. now I'm going to start The Story Of Edgar Sawtelle. Taking a little break from pnr and uf.
DarkHeart wrote: "Now I'm back to You Slay Me, after that brief detour. My friend is convinced that Katie MacAlister is too light for me (mainly, I believe, because I didn't like the one Lynsay Sands book I read)."DarkHeart, I didnt' like Lynsay Sands either but I really enjoyed You Slay Me. I typically prefer my pnr and uf as dark as possible and I avoid anything that could be considered "chic lit", but the Aisling Grey books are pretty good. I think you'll like it.
I've just read Take Two and I liked it a lot! I also just read Goddess of the Sea and Goddess of Spring OMG they were SO good!!! I have started Goddess of Light and I hope it is as good. I am also reading Ellora's Cavemen Tales from the Temple II --I've read the first story and it was a nicy sexy werewolf story.
Bonnie - How to descibe Coraline? It was creeply delightful! I mean, it's written for kids, and I could actually see some kids getting nightmares from it. And the entire time I kept asking myself how in the world did the author come up with this? But it was interesting. I actually listed to it on audiobook. It's not too long, about 3 1/2 hours. But the really fun thing was that the author reads the book! So you get to hear exactly how he wrote it!
Bonnie wrote: "Just finished Memory and Dream -- LOVED it. Definitely going to read more [a:Ch..."Anything :-) He has several Newford items check out url http://books.ofearna.us/delint.html
Kelley Anne wrote: "I am reading a couple of books by Neil Gaiman. I am just finishing up [b:Coraline|17061|Coraline|Neil Gaiman|htt..."Both very fun books--Gaiman-style fun.

I just started The Steel Remains by Richard Morgan and it is wonderful. The opening paragraph hooks you right in and never lets go.
I am almost done with Let the Right One In. It's about vampires - but DEFINATELY does not fall in the category of Paranormal Romance or even Urban Fantasy. More of a horror I would guess. Kinda creepy - but definately a good read so far.
I just picked up Marjorie Liu The Iron Hunt from the library I have not started it yet but it looks interesting. Has anyone read it?
Dawn - I thought it was pretty interesting and a completely different interpretation of demons and demon hunters. The only problem I found was that it was a little confusing to follow all the characters and the story line. But overall the storyline was fast paced and interesting. There is a sequel to the book coming out sometime in 2009.
Susan wrote: "I'm now about 1/2 way through Adam Stemple (Jane Yolen's SON) first Singer book... excellent"finished it. it stayed excellent right up to the end.
I bought the new Charles de Lint (Yay that JJP cover is awesome!!!) and am going to read either it or the ARC for Nina Kiriki Hoffman's new book next...
I'm new::don't know if i'm in the right place, but i'm reading The Dream Hunter by Sherrilyn Kenyon::i read a few offish reviews about this story/series but i'm really enjoying it:: just as much as the Dark Hunter stories. Also have The Good Faeriea Of New York (Martin Millar) to read.
I just started listening to Uglies. I just finished the first disk and it's really kinda interesting so far. I have heard so much about this series that I finally decided to give in and read it!
So, as most of you that read my posts knows, I listen to a ton of audiobooks. But I usually make myself only listen at work. I can only get so many audiobooks a month and I don't want to not have anything to listen to at work. But, I started listening to Uglies and I can't stop! At the rate I'm going, I'll be 3/4 of the way done with it before I go to work tonight! lol! I already downloaded the next one, Pretties because I heard that Uglies ends on a cliff hanger and I'm not going to want to wait!
Kelley Anne wrote: "So, as most of you that read my posts knows, I listen to a ton of audiobooks. But I usually make myself only listen at work. They are YA Science Fiction and I swear that I think every teenager should be required to read them! They are set in our world, but in the future. They live in a society where you are either an ugly or a pretty. Uglies are normal people, mostly kids, and when you turn 16 you get MAJOR reconstructive surgery to be the ideal pretty. The main character, Tally, meets a girl named Shay. They are just about 3 months from their 16 birthdays and Tally is just counting down the days until she can become pretty. But Shay has a different perspective on things. She likes the way that she looks right now. Why does she have to have surgery to become pretty? It's really interesting and makes you think. Plus it's pretty fast moving and you just don't want to put it down!
Kelley Anne - I took that book out of the library and I just never had the chance to read it.. now I want to go back and get it lol.I have a few books that I will be reading sometime soon: Surviving Demon Island by Jaci Burton, Hungry Tigress by Jade Lee and Outlander
Yeah I had the Uglies sitting on my desk for like 3 weeks and I had so many other books at the time to read I just kept pushing it back lol. I will eventually go back and grab it. Too many books and not enough hours to read everything!!
Allison wrote: "I just started the Cal Leandros series by Rob Thurman. Absolutely fun read!"Did you get her new one, too?
Currently reading "Kushiels' Justice" by Jacqueline Carey - book five in her seris. Great epic fantasy/politics/romance series.
Tess- How is that series, I have the first book on my TBR list but I haven't had a chance to pick it up yet
