It's not. I was so disappointed. I am sure you will come to your own conclusions. I believe it will be crowned my "Worst book of the year".

Carolyn F. Started Destined for an Early Grave by Jeaniene Frost yesterday. Cried and couldn't put it down until after midnight (when I get up at 6:00 am). Very good book

message 1105: by Janet (new)

Janet | 5 comments I read Bitter Night A Horngate Witches Book last night. I forgot the authors name but her middle name is pharoh. Bitter Night is about Max, a girl tricked into becoming the best warrior and defender of the earth. :). Max was tricked 30 years ago and while she loves her new life she Hates the witch who tricked and changed her. The witch is no less confused. She tortures Max but actually seems to care about her. My only complaint is about the love interest. I thought he was weak but we did get to see his point of view. I guess that's why I thought of him as weak since he thinks that of himself. Great book. Can't wait for the next one.

I found this book through a random Amazom recommendation. I can't tell you how many times I've been disappointed by books I decided to "try" but finding this Jen may make me take a few more chances with new authors.

Susan (Suz) (sharney) | 292 comments I'm currently reading Incubus Dreams (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #12) by Laurell K. Hamilton . I read [image error] last week and overall it was ok.... I read a spoiler about the ending not knowing it was a spoiler and I think that kind of ruined it for me.

that is the reason i am really really trying not to read anything about Tempted until i finish it.

message 1108: by Narnies (new)

Narnies I've never read anything by P.C Cast, are the books good?

At the moment I'm reading Made to Be Broken by Kelley Armstrong and im enjoying it :)

DarkHeart "Vehngeance" (darkheart) | 437 comments Some people really love the House of Night series. I find the protagonist, Zoey, to be annoying beyond reason, but have kept on with the series for some of the other characters and because I think the premise is interesting. It's starting to become a bit too much for me though, and with what I've heard about the latest book, I imagine it will be the last book of the series that I read.

I really liked it, but I think Vaughn and Faith were my faves. Can't wait to read the rest of the series!

But... now I'm reading Zen and the Art of Vampires by Katie MacAlister.

I liked Vaughn, but so far Faith is my least fave of the main characters. She annoyed me in Mine to Possess.

I just loved Judd--who thought the Ice Man had it in him. :)

message 1113: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 766 comments I know! I really liked Judd, too.

new_user Wait til you guys read Dev. Ice Man used to be my favorite. ;)

message 1115: by Narnies (new)

Narnies Darkheart, have you read the Karen Chance books with Cassie? And if so is Zoey as annoying as Cassie? Hrm.

Smart move Cherra! I wish I would have been that smart! I really think I would have like the book a bit more....

message 1118: by Narnies (new)

Narnies Yeah. She's annoying. Seems she takes the long way to do everything and she still get's the sexy vamp.

Phooey!

message 1119: by Ellen (new)

Ellen (ellenpenleysmith) Darkheart, I completely agree with you on the HON series. I stopped reading the series after I read the third one, and I just read the spoilers if I want to know what happens. Lol.

DarkHeart "Vehngeance" (darkheart) | 437 comments Ariana wrote: "Darkheart, have you read the Karen Chance books with Cassie? And if so is Zoey as annoying as Cassie? Hrm."

LOL... oh, that doesn't bode well. I've committed myself to start the Karen Chance books this month. You didn't like Cassie? My issues with Zoey are that she pretends to be really open minded, but is actually incredibly judgmental and narrow minded and continually screws over people that care about her - and yet they keep coming back. I read the series hoping one day something horrible will happen to her and her harem will wake up and realize she isn't all that and desert her. ;)

message 1121: by Narnies (new)

Narnies Well that rules me out.

And as for the Karen Chance books.... whoops??? You might still enjoy them though, most people do apparently. I even made it to book 4! But honestly, i think Karen Chances "Midnight's Daughter" is way better than the other series.

new_user DarkHeart wrote: "My issues with Zoey are that she pretends to be really open minded, but is actually incredibly judgmental and narrow minded..."

That is what ticked me off about her stuff, DH. The judgmentalness.

Yes that and her choice of boyfriends in the series is beyond ridiculose.

message 1124: by Narnies (new)

Narnies I'm kinda semi curious now about reading the book, just so i know what you're talking about. I think il check if my library's got it...:D

message 1125: by new_user (new)

new_user LOL. I get curious myself when I hear so much bad news about a book. I would give you mine if you weren't across the globe, LOL. I have no use for it.

I ♥ Bookie Nookie (bookienookiereviews.blogspot.com) (ibookienookie) I am still trying to figure out how I feel about Tempted as a whole. It was strangely filled with unnecessary nonsense and I found myself wishing I could just get to the end already! Then all kinds of stuff happened and it ended abruptly.

Oh! and what was up with every body hating Eric all of the sudden in this book? His character totally regressed in this book. What happened to the mature-vampire-teacher?

DarkHeart "Vehngeance" (darkheart) | 437 comments Aww, that's even more disappointing. Eric was always one of the better characters. Do I even want to read this book or just let it collect dust on my bookshelf? Hmm...

I ♥ Bookie Nookie (bookienookiereviews.blogspot.com) (ibookienookie) Has anyone read the ACRO series by Sydney Croft? The cover stories look pretty good--just curious what others might think...

oh! good to know guys! the ratings are around 3-4ish range, but they haven't been rated by very many people so I was curious. I think I will add them to my TBR list--that never seems to shrink!

message 1133: by new_user (new)

new_user LOL. I hear you, Cherra. One book read, another added.

message 1134: by Melodie (new)

Melodie (melodieco) Right now I'm reading a straight up mystery. I finished Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick and ended up being disappointed with it. It seemed to fizzle out.

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1831 comments I'm reading Huff's The Enchantment Emporium. I think in an effort to not fall into the "info dump" trap, she's actually giving too little information. She's also making it sound as though all the family members are screwing each other. It's all very odd.

I would probably recommend it to my niece, but don't know that I would recommend it to most adults I know. It started out really well I thought, but just ended up going nowhere, IMHO.

message 1138: by Carolyn F. (new)

Carolyn F. I'm reading Karen Chance's Cassie books right now. I really liked the first two books. Finished Mary Jane Davidson's Dead and Loving it and only kind of liked the 1st and 4th stories. Finished Thorn Queen by Richelle Mead and I really liked those books.

message 1141: by Valorie (new)

Valorie I just finished Coyote Dreams (Walker Papers, #3) by C.E. Murphy and really enjoyed it. I think it is the best one so far of the Walker Papers series. I'm now starting on Bound to Shadows (Riley Jenson Guardian, #8) by Keri Arthur

Susan (Suz) (sharney) | 292 comments LOL @ new user!:) I sure hope we get to see more of him in this book and something FINALLY happens with the two of them!:)

message 1147: by Laura Lulu (new)

Laura Lulu (lauralulu) I read on Ilona & Gordon's blog recently that Kate & Curran either hook up or break up in the next book. She said some people might be upset to have no more sexual tension, but in real life people only dance around each other for so long before they either make a commitment or go their separate ways, and she said that Kate & Curran will be doing one of those things. :)

message 1148: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 93 comments I can't seem to finish powers of detection, i keep putting it down for other books but I can't leave a book unfinished. I'm reading A Caress Of Twilight by Laurell K. Hamilton

message 1149: by Valorie (new)

Valorie I just finished Tainted (The Blood Lily Chronicles, #1) by Julie Kenner really enjoyed it. It's more of an Urban Fantasy opposed to Paranormal Romance. Not to much romance in it, but a good read all the same. Great plot and smart, witty writing. I really liked the main heroine, Lily. She was a sarcastic kick ass character! I'm now starting on The Devil Inside (Morgan Kingsley, #1) by Jenna Black

message 1150: by Katie (new)

Katie Larsen (katie006) | 19 comments I just finished Night walker by Jocelyn Drake. I really liked it. It was quite a blood bath, more so than I am used to. I really enjoyed the action. I felt like this was just the very beginning of the story though. I am going to start the next in the series soon.
