I am for sure going to read Destined for an Early Grave. I just got a notice from the library that it's ready to be picked up. I will have to take a break from the reading challenge to read it or change one of my reading choices. I can't wait!!!

I read the first 3 a while ago and I liked them. I would list them under UF, Marla is pretty hard core.

Not bad so far.. but it's on my computer so I'm having a hard time reading it. I hate adobe versions lol.

Although I just heard it's not exactly a happy ending. I hate non-happy endings. lol. But I'll keep going with it. It's an interesting concept.

message 926: by Jaime (new)

Jaime Rush (jaime_rush) | 126 comments I'm now reading The Traveler, by John Twelve Hawks. It's good, though the Big Brother theme is a bit pervasive, like they'll never survive because it's so bad/big. But it's definitely a neat idea. The main guy is a Traveler, who can psychically go to other worlds/realms.

Im right there with you Melodie! I just bailed on my 2nd attempt at Outlander. I love long books and am a sucker for a good romance with action. I'm not sure why, but it just hasn't grabbed my attention... :/

At the last page of the book my last thought was....WHAT?!?!? How on earth could Koontz do so well with the other Odd Thomas books and then just leave all these loose ends open at the end? He is absolutely going to write a "second" part to this book. I kind of have an idea of where he might be going with the coyotes and Annamaria but who knows if we will ever find out! :)

Susan (Suz) wrote: "I know that's exactly how I felt, I was so not happy with how he left this story!!!"

So on one of the other groups I am part of I was asking if another Odd Thomas book was coming out to finish this one and they said in 2010 the 5th one is coming out and the reason that it has taken so long was because Koontz wanted to finish his Frankstein series before he started another Odd book. Which is a bummer for those of us that were left hanging with Odd.

Susan (Suz) (sharney) | 292 comments That's good to hear Jinnifer! But for those of us who read the first 2 in his Frankenstein series have been anxiously awaiting the 3rd one for ALONG time ;) So long in fact I gave away the 2 that I had and had to buy them again to re-read them before I get the third one! I love koontz, but I think he needs to stick with stand alone books LOL ;)
